So much for endings. Beginnings are always more fun. True connoisseurs, however, are known to favor the stretch in between, since it's the hardest to do anything with.

it all started with a little show called

  • charmed. it was a little show about witches and magic and my cousin, monica, got me addicted during our annual summer visit to ohio.
  • gilmore girls. beginning of seventh grade, abc family had gotten the syndication rights and oh boy was that the best thing that ever happened to me. it made me snarkier.
  • grey's anatomy. so towards the end of my seventh grade year one of my lunchtable friends said 'have you seen grey's anatomy? you've got to watch it'. a couple days later the episode save me aired. it was the eight ep of the first season. summer went by and i forgot about it. and then mystically i saw the premiere. and i was a goner. that moment brought me a lot of amazing experiences, especially after real life friendships fell on hard times.
  • studio 60. the fall of my freshman year, every tv critic was buzzing about this new Sorkin drama. it was going to be a hit. well that didn't exactly happen, but what did happen is i fell hard core for these characters and the words they said.. which leads us to.
  • the west wing. in the middle of my studio 60 love, i realized that there were many references to the first big sorkin hit. so finally, on thanksgiving day, i d/led my first ep. it was a thanksgiving ep and it was amazing. for the next two months, i couldn't stop watching. i watched two eps a night in my bedroom, and it was the most emotional experience of my life.
  • bones. honest to god, i can't remember what got me started on this lovable drama about a doc named brennan and her boy cop booth. What i do remember is my first tv-watched ep was Aliens in a Spaceship, and my god. Nothing had ever been that poignant. It was fantastic.
  • bsg. well, there was this special on you see. a special where joss whedon, creator extrodinaire of firefly, showed his inner fanboy over a reimagined '70s sci fi show. i had to check it out. just my luck, the next week the sci fi channel aired a marathon, close to 10 hours of galactica a day. and well now i can't stop saying frak.
  • the x files. this is my newest affair. and while i've only see a handful of eps, i think this feeling is a lot like love. which makes sense completely. i mean in the pilot of bones, booth says 'we're scully and mulder' and references to the similarities between b/b and m/s are always made. it was only natural that i'd get curious and throw myself into this 9 season long undertaking. and the fact that all this buzz is stirring about the film didn't help either.
