- Patchouli Knowledge (Touhou Project)
- Sometimes, I experience being Patchouli. Sometimes, I'm not Patchouli but someone with a vague yet close attachment to the Scarlet Devil Mansion and its inhabitants (hearted-ness in a way, but not exactly). Sometimes, I'm just really absorbed in the social structure and culture of Gensokyo, be it from a yokai perspective or a human perspective. Whether I'm actively Patchouli or not, Patchouli is something of a vessel that I navigate my Touhou-based alterfictionality with.
- Yuki Nagato (Haruhi Suzumiya)
- This is the vaguest of my vaguetypes. I have no words to really describe my alterfictional ties to Yuki Nagato. I think the only thing I can name is our similarities in being extraterrestials that hide in plain sight. Other than that, there's nothing specific shaped around this vaguetype. Rather than apply to multiple frameworks or come from a complex history, this vaguetype simply exists within my alterhumanity.
- Umamusume (both the species and the work of fiction)
- Occasionally, I experience being an Umamusume. Other times, I simply connect with Umamusume and its many stories as a non-thoroughbred horse. I like to joke that its adaptations make me feel like a dad glued to his tv screen, watching his team play. The factheartedness I feel towards this world's racehorses (ex: Gentildonna, Verxina, Still in Love, etc) factors in this vaguetype as well. I created an umasona to help navigate my complex feelings towards Umamusume, existing both as an OC and a fictionflicker to me. I also experience paratype-like feelings towards Umamusume as a species; Umamusume feel distinctly connected to my identity as a horse seeing that this species concept helped improve my relationship with equinehood, especially with being equally human and nonhuman.
- Mutant (X-Men/Marvel Comics)
- I have a complicated relationship with mutantkind. I once had a parallel life as a mutant, an X-Man no less, but my ties to it have been distanced to the point of no longer being me. I still feel an immense kinship with mutants, in which I want to stay as a mutant. Yet, this experience is different from what I felt before. This vaguetype exists because of the strong, nuanced feelings I have towards mutantkind after losing my connection to that parallel life. It also ties into a related vaguetype in which I re-insert myself and my feelings into the Marvel Universe through The Beyonder.
- The Beyonder (X-Men, Marvel Comics)
- This vaguetype involves otherlinking, imagithropy, heartedness and 'flickering. Due to the complicated history I have with mutantkind, I don't feel comfortable labeling this experience as a fictotype or a fictionflicker.
- When I experience being a version of The Beyonder, I don't appear in any established Marvel canons. I’ve created my own canon for this vaguetype. In said canon, I'm born with both Beyonder and Mutant DNA. I later become both The Beyonder and an X-Man as a result.
