He thought it was strange to see her so unlike her usually happy and (unfortunately for him) clingy self. So much so, in fact, that he found himself making his way over to her and asking (without thinking or really even being conscious of the act), "What's wrong, child?"
• Wingipedia – startingatmidnight (Series, 73k) It's not a big deal, it's really not, and it's not anything weird, and it's not a 'fixation', thank you Lucifer. It is not weird to want to know more about wings after your partner keeps waking you up in the morning with giant, celestial equivalents to bird wings. She just wants to help Lucifer figure out why he keeps manifesting his wings in his sleep, and there is absolutely nothing more to it. No, she is not in the 'courtship' section of the Wikipedia page about preen oil. She absolutely would never do that. Shut up.
• a softer beginning – wollfgang (T, 64k) After a terrible injury leaves Lucifer without his memories of his life on earth, his past in hell, or the Fall, it's up to Chloe to piece him back together.

But then he’d said in a smaller voice after he’d raised his at her (at her, and she'd heard him yell at others but never, ever at her), like he was tired and stressed and felt maybe a little like she did, that he couldn’t sleep, she… well, she wanted to help.

Cutting off his wings muted these instincts somewhat, but now that the wings are back, so are the angel instincts- full force.
• Such a Mad, Mad Reckoning – Mia_Vaan (T, 11k) Lucifer isn't knocked out, and he continues on to tell Chloe the truth. God decides to give him his wings back, anyway.

But there was a heavy weight on top of him and, as his hearing started to come back to him, it sounded like something was on fire, but very far away. He was lying on top something else and a quick glance down reminded him of the explosion. Chloe was unconscious beneath him. He forced himself up onto his feet and bent down with a grimace to pick Chloe up off of the ground. The melted heap that had been on top of him had shielded the both of them from most of the falling debris (he’d pulled her away from the desk and behind the biggest something he could find before the explosion had truly started, but he’d forgotten about Abel in his rush to keep the Detective safe).

Having his wings cut off in the beginning allowed Lucifer to set these original virtues aside ― but now that the wings are back, so are the better angels of his nature.

The thing that she couldn't really understand, was that he would do absolutely anything she asked him to with a sort of scary military precision. The worst part was that Chloe didn't know what to do about it.

She knew that he had because he’d told her and her mom that he died but got better… and Lucifer never lied. But he hadn’t, he’d just kept growling and walking, and he’d even broken the bad guy’s hand (she only knew that because Maze had told her what it sounded like once). She had been so glad that he was there to protect her, and she was scared that he was going to die again so she’d rushed past Eve just as the elevator doors were opening and crashed into Lucifer’s side even as he snarled at the man he had pinned to the ground.
