Workspace

  • Keep a water bottle next to you at all times, hydrate regularly.
  • Alternate using headphones, earphones, speakers or just plain silence.
  • Have a certain setup for work and leisure. If you don't have a separate workspace from your usual desk, separating them can be as simple it can be turning on a lamp or lights, lighting an incense or changing the position of your peripherals.
  • Use a comfortable chair that allows you to maintain a proper posture.

Time Management

  • Set up physical timers/alarms for pomorodo, breaks and time outs. It's easy to lose track of time when you're focused and forget that you need a break too. Take these breaks before you burn out, not after.
  • Prioritize simple routines and essential goals over perfection.
  • Progress matters more than results.
  • Disconnect from work after work hours. Set this boundary and maintain it.

Focus

  • Stand up and move around at least every 50 minutes.
  • Pump yourself up with a curated playlist for working.
  • If you can't find meaning in doing it for yourself, do it for others. Instead of doing something to get it done, think of doing it for the sake of others. It can be a way to return your parents' hard work, a way to impress your partner, a way or a contribution you make for your organization.
  • Give your mind time be distracted. You will naturally regain focus but if you need to shorten the time you allot for distractions, avoid entertainment media. Instead, stare at a wall and do nothing else. Let your mind wander in a way where it won't want to wander for too long (;

Habits

  • Don't forget to smile.
  • Update yourself with loved ones throughout the day. Make sure to listen to them as well.
  • Look at the mirror whenever you feel stuck in a problem and practice self affirmation.
  • Do a self check periodically, asses your energy levels and try to align your responsibilities and needs.
