- i still sleep with my security blanket that i've had since i was a year old.
- i have always had really clear skin and am proud of it. up until recently i only used water to wash my face. (i use face wash now because i wear makeup more often.)
- even though i'm outwardly cynical about relationships, i am actually a hopeless romantic and i love fictional romantic stories. real life romance makes me want to gag, fictional romance makes me happy.
- even though i come across as super-organized, i hate thinking about money and don't really pay attention to my finances other than the bare minimum
- i have seen both Power Rangers movies in the theater
- meeting howie from the backstreet boys was one of the biggest highlights of my life
- even though i always have cold feet, i hate wearing socks
- i love to flatten cardboard boxes
- i was born with a full head of hair and have always had really thick hair. whenever i get it cut the stylist always comments on it
- i get nervous about making phone calls - especially to people i don't know, like the dentist's office
- i can crack my ankle on command (due to an injury several years ago)
- i am a hardcore journal-er and (as of feb. 2009) have 39 completed journals (averaging 180 pages each), the earliest having been started when i was in 5th grade
- i once had a RAP solo in a baseball-themed musical in middle school. i was an umpire.
- sometimes i wish i had a british accent
- i don't really have a lot of friends, but i'm fiercely loyal to the ones i do have
- i've never had a boyfriend and i really am okay with that
- all the guys i've liked in the past (not that there have been many) have been extreme extroverts
- the cup i drink out of most of the time is a kid-size plastic cup with dinosaurs on it.
- i was named after Laura Ingalls Wilder. my mom loved watching 'little house on the prairie' when she was pregnant with me. i always joke that i have the ultimate white girl's name.
- i'm a total homebody. i spend at least one day a week at home the entire day without leaving. i can spend hours and hours by myself. this is probably why i could never live in a place like new york city where you are on the go all the time and your home space is small and cramped.
- people who know me well will be familiar with something called "the look." usually it's given to guys when they are being immature, stupid, or weird.
- the fact that i am a middle child has had a big impact on who i am. in my perspective i grew up in the shadow of my superstar older sister and my mama's boy younger brother (sorry achs & tim, haha...) i think by now i've claimed my own place in the family, but it really was significant to me growing up as a middle child.
- i hope i don't get beaten for saying this, but in 2003 during the osu/uofm football game, i was wearing a red sweatshirt and in the fishbowl writing a paper. as i walked home i could hear cheering in all the apartments and dorms as i passed. i am kind of sad that i missed that game since it will probably be many years until uofm beats osu again.
- my family is chinese, but we do not speak mandarin or cantonese. our dialect is called 'fukien' - my ancestors are from the fujian province (in the southeast part of china), but actually my parents were born in the philippines. sometimes i get tired of explaining this part of who i am, but overall, i'm very proud of my unique ethnic heritage.
- i, unlike the rest of my family, do not like physical affection. i often will 'flail' when my family tries to hug or kiss me. i think my main love languages are 'quality time' and 'gift giving'.
