  • April 2009: Tarek Hassan, a lovely Turkish/German exchange student, offers me flowers and fun baked chocolate goods in the hallway one day as he entreats me to join him at my senior prom. He is one year younger than me. We have a nice Chinese food dinner at August Moon, stroll about the waterfront, and up being the first pair willing to brave the strange empty dance floor at the Portland Marriott. Sarcastic dance moves and photo ops ensue.
  • May 2011: NRP loiters in the lobby of my dormitory for over an hour before Coral's large / slightly-ghetto / daytime security guard stops my elevator as I try to ascend. He informs of the great patience fortitude with which "my boyfriend" has awaited my descent. N gifts a lovely bouquet to me. I proceed to disappear on him for about four months. Understandably, he is not so happy with me upon my return to the isle of Manhattan.
  • October 2011: After waking from a night spent alongside her beautiful little snoring body, in response to my inquiring as to how all these flowers appeared atop the dining room table, Behzad's mother insists that I take the aforementioned bouquet of pink roses home with me. Despite my congenial protest, she wins, sends me off to the PATH train with that son of hers, planting a kiss on each of my puffy hungover cheeks. Though tossed about a bit along the way, the roses manage to make it out of New Jersey in one piece.
