- Ran into Spike Lee at the Kimmel Center, then proceeded to stare blatantly at him for a prolonged period of time.
- Listened to JJ and Kid CuDi while strolling through Washington Square, drinking coffee and been really pleased.
- Eaten delicious vegetable samosas, fresh donuts, white chocolate chip cookies and chocolate-marionberry ice cream with Ava, Kristen and Ismael while perusing Pike's Place Market and then sneaking dantily into the Seattle Aquarium for octopus and seal-watching.
- Wandered through Saks Fifth Avenue in Midtown, sufficiently terrified by the volume of fake people roaming the store's guilded-aisles.
- Watched Danielle Slocki knock a sink off the bathroom wall by sitting on it.
- Sat on the roof of Kristen Drewes' home at 7:30 in the morning after a wine-filled all-nighter with Ms. Drewes and her crazy mother, and smoked as the sun came up and the birds chirped while Ralph Drewes prepared for work beneath our very feet.
- Passed out in Christian Gerlach's sister's bed.
- Realized that Grizzly Bear's Veckatimest is probably what you hear when you get into heaven, while walking through Portland's park blocks at night.
- Opened presents on Christmas morning with Mom and Stephan.
- Watched Gabe Mathews and Stephen Day punch each other in the face.
- Sat next to a creek in the middle of a farm in Silverton, Oregon (in the dark).
- Shopped for bongs at The Third Eye with Ava, Kristen, Ismael and Christian.
- Consumed bubble teas and baked goods at Tea Chai Te with Kristen.
- Had my 19th birthday dinner at this vegan/raw restaurant called Blossoming Lotus with Doug, Kelly and Stephan: ate delicious raw chocolate-raspberry ganache, got all huffy and explosive about Sandra Bullock getting nominated for an Oscar, received lots of birthday money and attempted to be grateful about it in a normal, non-privileged sort of way, etc.
- Looked out over Washington Square from the top floor of the Kimmel Center.
- Sat on a suburban curb just north of 23rd street in Portland with Kristen Drewes, casually smoking and discussing her extensive hand-written diagram on Hobbes, Heideger and human nature and thought.
- Stayed up all night in my lady apartment watching movies, reading "Cunt," "The Zen of Eating" and Tolstoy's "A Confession," and munching on chocolate chip cookies. Then I took a long hot shower and watched the sun come up in my bed before promptly passing out in my bed, wrapped in a towel.
- Watched the last 20 minutes of Wall Street, suddenly realizing that Oliver Stone and nearly everyone else involved in the production of the movie secretly know a lot of things. Like, really important things.
- Shopped for tasty fruits and chocolate treats at a Whole Foods in Glendale, California with Doug Worsley.
- Sat in the pews of a big empty church/thought I was walking towards my death.
- Hiked through Nihilist woods in the cold and wind to Secret Beach, then collected fun rocks.
- Eaten delicious vegetable samosas from the Kimmel Center.
- Perused through the Barnes & Noble at Union Square.
- Sat in the middle of the Rose Garden/Arboretum with Kristen in the dark of the night, after hiking there through a series of muddy, forested hills.
- Had very specific and essential epiphanies concerning my reasons for taking a leave of absence from NYU and the far-reaching implications of those realizations, while listening to The Knife's "Coloring of Pigeons."
- Flown to Denver, Colorado.
- Eaten at the Bombay Cricket Club.
- Eaten breakfast at The Roxy with Aaron Sherman.
- Watched the 2009 Golden Globes with Doug.
- Watched Planet Earth (many, many times).
- Watched Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.
- Watched Jersey Shore (bad idea?).
