Inspired by Dirk Greyson's ongoing list, this is a continuing compilation of things that made my day.

  • I found out the Tolstoy essay isn't due until Friday.
  • Mr. Bailey had a substitute teacher.
  • I made jelly donut cupcakes from Veganomicon.
  • "The 400 Blows" on dvd is on sale from the Criterion Collection for only $18.99 so I ordered it.
  • I had jelly donut cupcakes and coffee for breakfast!
  • We're watching "Good Will Hunting" in Psychology while the IB kids are studying for testing (I forgot just how good that movie is).
  • I got "New Treehouses of the World" by Pete Nelson and "Babycakes," a vegan cookbook by Erin McKenna, at Powell's.
  • I took a nice, long nap after school.
  • I successfully completed the baking and making of the mint icebox cake for Mom on Mother's Day (and it tasted awesome).
  • Mr. Bailey cancelled the latest issue of the Cardinal Times.
  • I skipped TOK in favor of lounging for an hour on the field.
  • Last night I laid in the bathtub (sans water, of course) wrapped in my mom's boyfriends comfy Pottery Barn robe and chatted about the meaning of life while she highlighted her hair in a desperate attempt to stave off the inevitable; death and decay.
  • My mom and I are going to dinner alone tonight at a new Indian restaurant in Northwest, something we haven't done in ages.
  • WE'RE LEAVING FOR SASQUATCH IN 8 DAYS.
  • The senior/staff basketball game (particularly since we won).
  • Angels and Demons was fucking awful (but Ewan McGregor made the best looking priest I've ever seen).
  • Tom Hanks' hand stuck in a pickle jar.
  • Tom Hanks stuck in a laundry bag.
  • After having been caked in a thick layer of dirt for over 100 hours, I took the best shower of my entire life followed up with clean clothes.
  • I finally got the opportunity to rent some movies from Hollywood, after over two weeks! I ended up getting The Hit, Au Revoir Les Enfants, The Man Who Would Be King, Ikiru, Double Indemnity and Paris, Texas.
  • Breakfast with Halpern and his daughter at the Bijou Cafe and lunch with the entire senior English class at Hoda's Middle Eastern restaurant, all in less than 4 hours.
  • Pizza potluck party in Gutlerner's complete with delicious baked goods.
  • Epic post-senior assembly party (on a Thursday night no less).
  • Had dinner at Vindahlo with Mom and Stephan, an Indian restaurant on SE Clinton that I've been meaning to go to for ages.
  • I bought a brand new REI jacket.
  • Dad and I saw Away We Go at the Fox.
