• In the mid 1950's, while uranium prospecting through Utah with his grandfather and cousin, his party stumbled upon John Wayne in the middle of filming The Searchers. They were never directly introduced, but my dad did end up finding Wayne releaving himself against a rock during a shooting break. (Also, the area in which they were filming turned out to have been a nuclear testing site years earlier and later on, about 80% of the cast and crew of The Searchers ended up dying cancer-related deaths).
  • On the same trip, my dad and the rest of the party had a photo taken of them that ended up on the cover of National Geographic.
  • In the 1970's he owned a bartending school in Oklahoma with his brother, at a time when it was illegal to sell individual alcoholic drinks. After about a year, the state cracked down on bartenders and all of the graduate's of my dad's school were arrested - forcing my dad to close the school.
  • He co-authored an instructional guide on alcoholic drink mixing (see above).
  • He refuses to eat anything but butter on his pancakes.
  • He's done mescalin, peyote, acid, cocaine and marijuana.
  • During the 70's he was dealt cocaine by his lawyer.
  • He has worked as a Merchant Marine, a cab driver, the manager of a restaurant that burned down while he was at home taking a nap, and a drummer in multiple jazz bands; among many other professions.
  • After undergoing surgery on an umbillical hernia in 2004, he no longer has a bellybutton.
  • His entire wardrobe consists exclusively of tracksuits.
  • While working as the Director of Admissions for the Art Institute of Toronto in 2005 he went in and out of Canada on a weekly basis without ever actually establishing a legal residence, technically residing there as an illegal alien for over a year.
  • He was kicked out of multiple Seventh Day Adventist colleges and highschools for "inappropriate behavior."
  • During the 1960's he was arrested while driving through Northern Florida for having several black people with him in the car.
  • He was a member of the Students For A Democratic Society group prior to its spawning the Weathermen, a group of radical students who staged several bombings and violent riots throughout the 1960's.
  • He was nominated as the electorat for the Socialist Party of Oklahama during the 1964 Presidential elections.
