- Only start the dishwasher when it's completely full. Monitor how many loads of dishes per day.
- Ride the bus to/from Mom's house at least once per week:
- 3:07 - At SW Broadway & Market board 19 Woodstock via 32nd & Rex.
- 3:45 - Get off at SE 82nd & Cooper.
- 3:53 - Board 72 Killingsworth/82nd Ave to Clackamas TC.
- 4:00 - Get off at SE 82nd and Johnson Creek.
- Try to purchase and eat local food as much as possible. Monitor where the household food and groceries is coming from.
- Don't purchase any new clothes, books or other expendable items for the duration of the project.
- Take 4-5 minute showers.
- Eliminate meat, dairy, eggs, cheese and all other animal-derivitive food products.
- Grow herbs at home.
- Transition to using recycled paper products, green cleaning supplies and compact fluorescent lightbulbs.
- Purchase a smart strip power strip.
- Start using recycled papers, kitchen scraps, and other trash in a compost pile to be made into fertilizer.
