  • The sound of rain drumming against the windows and roof.
  • Curling up under a blanket with a good book when it's raining.
  • Going for a walk in the rain without an umbrella and returning home to a hot bath or shower.
  • The smell of cakes and other sweet treats baking in the oven.
  • The sound of sea gulls at the seaside.
  • The excitement I feel waking up on the day of a concert.
  • The adrenaline rush of excitement when seeing a band perform live.
  • Receiving hand-written letters in the mail.
  • Receiving a parcel... even if it's something I've bought for myself.
  • Strangers who say 'hello' as I pass them in the street.
  • Receiving compliments from strangers.
  • Standing in the surf and feeling the pull of the tide around my feet as the sea progresses and recedes from the shore.
  • Feeling the sun on my skin.
  • The taste of salt water on my lips from a swim in the sea.
  • Body boarding on a hot summer's day.
  • The sound of trees dancing in the wind.
  • The howl of the wind during a storm.
  • The sound of the ocean, especially when I can hear it from bed when I stay near the sea.
  • The first gulp of a cold drink when I've been thirsty for hours.
  • Having a moment of interaction with a favourite band member at a concert... if only just for a second.
  • Driving around with the windows down on a hot summer's day.
  • Blasting good tunes out when the sun is shining.
  • The feeling of taking my bra off after a long day. (Ladies, you know what I'm talking about!)
  • The affection from a pet who is so happy to see you... it's always nice to know someone cares!
  • Giving compliments to somebody and making them smile.
  • The excited feeling of waking up on Christmas Eve and preparing for Christmas... the lead up is my favourite part.
  • Turning my favourite songs up loud.
  • Crunching through Autumn leaves.
  • When blossom starts appearing on the trees in Springtime.
  • When the evenings begin to get brighter after a long, dark Winter.
  • The smell of Jack o' lanterns when the candle is burning inside.
  • The smell of real Christmas trees.
  • Seeing rugged tattooed men lovingly cradling babies.
  • The blissfulness of spending an entire day hermited away reading a good book.
  • The contented feeling from rereading a favourite book.
  • The nostalgia from wearing my favourite Escada perfume, which immediately takes me back to New York.
  • Remembering a great memory, and breaking out in a smile I can't contain.
  • Going for a walk on the beach.
  • Wearing green eyeshadow and feeling complete.
  • Watching Julie and Julia *contented sigh*. (The bit with the onions is my favourite part).
  • Baking bread and kneading the dough.
  • Hearing owls hoot outside my window during the night. I hear them most nights.
  • The smell of the tarmac after a rain storm.
  • Wearing a new dress for the first time and feeling fabulous!
  • The smooth feeling of freshly shaved legs. (Mine, of course. I don't go around stroking people's legs!)
  • Memories of my fur babies that make me smile, even though they're up in critter heaven.
  • Going to see a musical at the theatre.
  • Fun day trips out to London on a sunny day.
  • Seeing loved up old couples holding hands.
  • The smell of old books.
  • Laughing with my sisters until my sides hurt.
  • Travelling on a train or plane to go somewhere fun, and spending hours daydreaming out of the window with good tunes on my iPod. It always feels like an adventure.
  • Visits from my best friend.
  • Movie nights at the sister's.
  • Bunny noses.
  • Pretty sunsets.
  • Gazing up at the stars... especially during meteor showers.
  • Spending a day at the zoo.
  • Concert adventures.
  • Men who open doors for you.
  • Cold showers on stifling hot days.
  • Waking up naturally without the alarm.
  • Waking up before the alarm and realising I still have a couple of hours to sleep.
  • Dramatically singing along to great (or bad!) tunes, especially musicals, in the car with my sister.
  • Driving around and spotting Christmas lights in December.
  • When somebody messages me to say "this made me think of you."
  • Buying myself flowers.
  • Looking through my memory box and remembering a life time of great memories.
  • Going to see Boyzone or Ronan Keating with my best friend and having so much fun together, getting up to no good!
  • Taking walks in the snow.
  • Feeling the cold on my face during the Winter when I'm wrapped up warm in cosy layers.
  • Irish accents.
  • When I find the dress / top / skirt I've been coveting for ages in store, and it's the last one and in my size. Fate!
  • Writing on the first page of a new notebook.
  • When I walk in to a shop and my favourite song comes on.
  • Warm towels straight out of the dryer- especially on a cold day.
  • The coziness of a thick fog, when I'm at home.
  • When I spot a wild animal in the countryside, such as a fox, deer, or bird of prey.
  • Taking a walk in the countryside, especially near a body of water.
  • Puppy cuddles.
  • Head-butt cuddles from strange cats.
  • Spending a blissful few hours listening to the back catalogues of Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park, Panic! at the Disco, Kings of Leon, Boyzone, or Ronan Keating.
  • Discovering a new novelty print on a fantastic dress.
  • Discovering an amazing new novelty bag.
  • The peacefulness of waking up at dawn and hearing nothing but birdsong.
  • The peacefulness of going for a walk really early in the morning when people are still in bed, and feeling like you've got the world to yourself.
  • Painting my nails in beautiful bright colours.
  • Finding time to do some creative writing and having the inspiration to actually write something!
  • Lazy days spent watching movies, either alone or in good company.
  • Perfectly dyed hair after too many weeks with my roots showing.
  • Going out for a meal or a few drinks with good friends and family.
  • Firework displays.
  • Watching the snow falling from the sky.
  • Thunder storms (when I'm indoors).
  • When the leaves return to the trees after a long Winter.
  • Watching Steel Magnolias for the millionth time. Utter contentment.
  • Lovely messages from friends.
  • The smell freshly of cut grass.
  • When the leaves change colour in Autumn, and everywhere looks so beautiful with a backdrop of gold, yellow, rust, burnt sienna, orange and red.
  • Crunching over frozen grass after a heavy frost.
  • Happy endings for neglected animals on animal rescue shows, or sick animals on veterinary programmes.
