🪷 Premise 🐉

After committing a great sin, Jing Lin, once a revered Deity Lord, is thought to be dead by all. In actuality, he survived and is spending his miserable immortal life in seclusion with a brocade carp as a companion. In a near-death experience, the carp, Cang Ji, transforms into a human and fosters a strange urge to devour Jing Lin. As he grows in power, Cang Ji has the potential to evolve into a dragon, but deities and demons alike are hot on their trail, intending to capture Cang Ji. Meanwhile, Jing Lin and Cang Ji tread the mortal realm in pursuit of a divine copper bell that leads them to experience the "eight sufferings" and uncover their forgotten past together.
