- The Rescuers
- These words are for the rescuers,
- The ones who take such deep breaths and dive right in,
- Sinking to the bottom like a stone determined they'll come back up, but not alone.
-
- Hold tight, be strong, don't doubt... your worth,
- It won't take long... to burn out,
- Put your shield down, rest up and take care,
- The challenge isn't going anywhere.
-
- Rescuer, save the day, save yourself,
- Rescuer, save the date, save it for yourself.
-
- Blue lips, caught up in their undertow,
- Remember to put your mask on first,
- Or this may be the last one,
- Rescuer don't drown,
- You're needed just cry out,
- Another will come around.
-
- Hold tight, be strong, don't doubt... your worth,
- It won't take long... to burn out,
- Put your shield down, rest up and take care,
- The challenge isn't going anywhere.
-
- Rescuer, save the day, save yourself,
- Rescuer, save the date, save it for yourself.
- Rescuer, save the day, save yourself,
- Rescuer, save the date, save it for a rainy day.

- Runaway
- One eye shut and stumbling in the dark,
- Trying ineptly to find my beating heart,
- Drop kicked one too many times,
- So I'm surprised that it still works,
- I feel so close these days to giving in,
- To never sharing it again.
-
- These days, I stay five steps ahead and to the side,
- This time, I might take a dive if things go right, don't want this boat to capsize,
- Girl overboard, I'm out of reach,
- Benefitting from the lessons they all teach,
- I'm proud to say I've finally come ashore,
- I'm done, no more drowning in the break,
- The tide is in, its my time now.
-
- My feet begging me to run, when you come along,
- Batter up, protecting my precious cup,
- Half full of hopes and dreams, I can't take the hit again,
- I'm always at the bottom of the charts, and I won't lie, it smarts, it stings,
- I'm not weak just well intentioned,
- I don't suppose its worth a mention, but I only run this fast when we close,
- It's times like these, when I feel the most,
- The ghost of history past visits me in the night,
- And Try as I might, I can't put up the fight, * So hold me tight and I might stay,
- Please don't let me runaway.
-
-
- The Sailor & The Siren
- You can be my lighthouse, guide my ship to shore,
- You can be my anchor, grounding me at harbour,
- You can be my buoy, keeping me afloat,
- And I'll be your returning adventurer always coming home.
-
- Coming back to port, though sometimes you are stern,
- When your arms go around me, I am home again,
- Your lips kissing mine and that voice which has a direct line into my mind,
- Your eyes that stroke across my skin like your fingertips following,
- You know how to play me like a well practiced game,
- Instrument of exquisite torture, what's inside your wicked brain,
- I think we're on a winning streak, you're my favourite catch every day,
- You've got me hooked, line and sinker.
-
- You can be my starboard, keep veering right,
- You can be my navigator, help me find my way in the darkest of nights,
- You can be my telescope, so I can see the stars above,
- You can be my calm in the storm, keep the nightmares at bay,
- And I'll be your stalwart love returning to you at the end of day.
- Come what may I'll stay on an even keel, I'll do my best by you,
- And I'll keep pushing through so I can make it safely home to you,
- When my eyes meet yours, I am capsized, upside down,
- And when my lips kiss yours I can breathe again,
- My voice aches to cry out with such sweet relief, back where I belong,
- My hands that stroke across your skin as I feel your heartbeat following, our rhythm echoing,
- I know how to make you sing like my favourite song, * Come love, play with me again,
- You can choose the game, and we can both win,
- I think we're onto something, with every beautiful sin,
- You've got me hooked, line and sinker.
