ANGOLA

im not really sure where i got the whole "ponytail" idea for her. im pretty sure i just got inspired by one of my past past classmates that was angolan, since she always went to school with her hair tied in this pretty big ponytail. i just exaggerated its size even more. its even bigger in those stupid "chibi" drawings i make of her... i just find it funnyLOL

i guess i always interpreted angola as a place that has a lot of chill people, and the angolans i've talked to were always very nice and relaxed, so it also helped inspire that for angola

as for the whole "jock" look, i just think its funny. shes nonchalant, so she dresses up in tracksuit clothing (something thats supposedly for energetic people who take their gym lifestyle seriously, right?), but its actually quite lazy looking and not that well put together once you take a closer look at it.

(early on, i actually considered making her a punk because of the punk scene in angola... but i didnt think it would fit very well with my characterization of her, and i wanted the clothing to be interesting BUT simple and easy to draw and remember, so i ended up picking the "jock" jacket and that.)

i think that also reflects how my angola acts, but in a completely opposite sense: most nations tend to take her lazy looking posture and relaxed face and too casual clothing as her being.. well.. lazy and unreliable. but shes actually very reliable, and happens to take diplomatic relations quite seriously. her emotions influence her A LOT, even if she doesnt show it at "face value"

not only is she nonchalant and relaxed, but she's also very sure of her own opinions. as soon as she wants out of something, she leaves. if she wants to join something, she joins. if she says shes gonna do something, then she will
