• The gospel is like sushi
  • The gospel is like my car (and spark plugs)
  • Being in the celestial kingdom with your family is like having a cell phone
  • In my field of work I often get so many assignments and unreasonable due dates close together that most of the time I can't reach. While not reaching the due dates can be bad, I'm never faulted for it because I can only do as much as I'm doing and the people in my company realize that. I never feel that guilty for not accomplishing my tasks because I put in 110% all the time.

It's the same with the gospel -- pretty much whenever I do anything feel like I'm not supposed to, I acknowledge it and move on knowing that I'm not perfect and that HF knows it too and he knows that I can only work as hard as I can work. If I'm trying my hardest and it's no good it doesn't really bother me because I'll just keep trying and probably keep missing the mark but I'm not going to beat myself up over not doing what I can't do.

An example, reading the original French version of The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, as compared to the early translation of The Little Prince by Katherine Woods and then the translation by Richard Howard -- I got 3 different books all supposedly from the same hand.

I couldn't understand the French version fully because I'm not fluent. I loved the Katherine Woods translation because the way that she translated the story appealed to me. I hated the Richard Howard translation because of the word choices he made.

Why wouldn't it be the same with revelation? I'm not as well acquainted with heavenly father as the prophets and apostles, so I then need to put my trust in them to translate for me. I love President Uchtdorf's messages because the way he thinks appeals to me. Other messages may come out garbled, confused or simply frustrating -- but it's possible it's all coming from the same source, just penned by a different hand. =====

MVC is kinda like the church right... Like the members are the models and they do most of the work and then the controllers are like the leadership and the stake leadership they handle the day to day and the communication between the members and the view which is the presidency and the quorum and church newsroom [4:44:34 PM] Kim Nguyen: The world mostly sees the presidency and the church newsroom but it's really the members that are doing all the hard work [4:44:46 PM] Kim Nguyen: But it's best if the view is shiny and bug free
