this is subject to change since my mind is quite fickle

GROUPS

  • 5 - BTS or NCT U
    • I have high respect for BTS but I have a higher affinity towards The 7th Sense. I don't like either of them that much, but I'm borderline stanning both.
  • 4 - Seventeen
    • Their songs are far from the types that become my "favorite" but they just perform with so much energy that even though they're not my type, I would always bop to their songs. I don't know all their names (I used to but I get confused every now and then) but as a group, they're just very enjoyable to watch.
  • 3 - Red Velvet
    • I am one of those who firmly believe that Ice Cream Cake is a timeless bop and The Red is an A+ KPop album. They all have nice voices and moves and their harmonization is on point.
    • Also, Seulgi's abs
  • 2 - f(x)
    • If The Red is an A+ KPop album, Pink Tape is one or two notches higher.
      • Pink Tape is both colorful cute and borderline indie-pop (I'm talking Shadow, Signal, and Airplane). And has pretty interesting lyics if you search about them.
      • I don't think I like a girl group album better than Pink Tape (of course, this doesn't include KPop solo albums, since I would still choose Chat-Shire over this one.)
    • Not to mention that everything they've released since Pink Tape is suited just to my taste. (Special mention to Red Light's Dracula and 4 Wall's X!) They just seem to consistently release songs with a tinge of unintimidating edginess.
    • I chose Rum Pum Pum Pum as the sample video because apparently, it compared first love (sarang) with an impacted wisdom tooth (sarangni). How adorbs is that?
  • 1 - SHINee
    • Two words - "Misconception" series
      • That series of albums is what got me into KPop. It exemplified the duality of each KPOP act, that thing that I liked in KPop - concept changes. They were able to show bright and dark pop songs with a few extra ballads without losing their own color.
    • I loved (almost) all their songs that followed. Like really, have you heard the Odd album?
    • I chose Married to the Music as the sample video because it was my type of cute.
    • Also, there's Hello Baby, One Fine Day, their dance moves, their Japanese songs, Prism, Jonghyun's emo-ness and Taemin. I really can't enumerate all the reasons to like them.
