  • cough into your elbow, not your hand.
  • shower before and after swimming in a public pool.
  • use a removable mattress topper between your mattress and your sheet to avoid stains or odors on your mattress.
  • don't give your dog rawhide.
  • open public doors without using your bare hands (push with your foot, pull with a fob or use a napkin/tissue).
  • at a restaurant: 1) wash your hands before eating but only after you're finished using the menu, and avoid touching the chair with your hands. 2) place a paper napkin over your drink to avoid dust or spit landing in it. 3)
  • don't wear shoes inside the house.
  • wash hands after preparing pets meals or handling their treats/kibble.
  • squeegee shower/bath walls after use to avoid water spots.
  • use coasters.
  • public restrooms: 1) avoid touching the door. 2) squat or make a nest at the toilet. 3) turn on faucet with side of hand, get soap, splash of water, lather, rinse, turn off faucet with paper towel. 4) open door with paper towel.
  • when playing a board or dice game at a party, only play the game with your dominant hand and use only the other hand to eat so as to avoid dirtying the game pieces.
  • do the same at any social event; have a designated hand for eating with, and a clean one for shaking hands, picking up utensils and opening doors.
