- It all started when I was working at Sephora in 2004. I had been there for about a year when my old college friend, John, started working there. He introduced me to the joys of makeup. One day I took an image from the cover of a W magazine with Kate Moss and duplicated it to a T. That's when I knew I wanted to be a makeup artist.
- I worked at Sephora till the beginning of 2007. Then I got a job at MAC at Town Center Mall in Kennesaw, Georgia and by 2008 I moved to Atlanta to work at the MAC in Macy's at Lenox Mall. From there I had numerous makeup opportunities outside of the retail job such as weddings.
- One day I was approached by a young guy named Nick who asked me to do makeup for a short student film. Even though I was not going to be paid, I accepted and made fast friends with most people on my first "movie" set. ;)
- I then met a women who owned her own brow shaping/makeup company/business. I quit MAC to pursue a job with her. For two months at the end of 2008, I had done a few charitable jobs for her company such as a fashion show for Catain Planet Christmas party held by Ted Turner's daughter. Chevy Chase was a trip to see. ;)
- Before I quit MAC, I did another short for my new found movie friends. I went to NYC for a week to do makeup for "The Noble Savage". That was May 2008. In January 2008 was "All That is Human". That summer I assisted with a Civil War short filmed in Savannah, Georgia.
- Back to December 2008 and working for Authentic Beauty. It didn't work out and I quit working for her. I worked at a restaurant while I decided what my next makeup moves were going to be. I took a few more wedding gigs and a commercial for an ergonomic chair as well as another short called "Nebraska". I was able to do more special effects makeup because I had made my own "blood" for that film. Also I worked with a few photographers for fun to create my portfolio but I let it slip through the cracks.
- By December 2010, I contacted a photographer by the name of Steve where I began the beginning of my REAL makeup career. ;)
