Diego Meijer was born on October 20, 2005, and grew up in San Francisco, California, in a Asian-American family. Growing up Asian American in the city shaped him in ways he doesn't always talk about, learning early how to move between different circles, expectations, and versions of himself without completely belonging to any one of them.
He had a relatively ordinary upbringing, surrounded by the noise and contradictions of San Francisco. He's always been comfortable around people, but never particularly dependent on them. Diego can be charming when he wants to be, knows how to work a room, and somehow always seems to know someone wherever he goes. That naturally followed him into college.
At university, he's pretty much the guy you'd expect to see at the center of a fraternity party: well-liked, effortlessly social, so confident, and occasionally involved in questionable decisions that somehow become campus lore by Monday morning. He's in a fraternity, has a wide circle of friends, and has mastered the art of looking like he's having the time of his life.
But the version of Diego people see at parties isn't the whole story.
For all his social energy, Diego genuinely enjoys being alone. He likes quiet mornings, late-night drives through the city, headphones on with absolutely no intention of answering anyone, and having an entire afternoon to himself. He doesn't necessarily need constant company just because he's good at finding it.
There's a certain irony to him: he's probably one of the easiest people to approach at a party, yet one of the hardest to actually get to know.
