• [inserts all the shit i've ranted about the drama before on mdl and various places already]
  • zhu ying has been such a sweet and encouraging mentor... we all wished we had superiors like her~
  • ep.13 the FIRST time i felt a thing for the leads - the scene in the rain!!! like damn it was kinda touching, but otherwise, i don't really care about them.
  • ep.13~14 lin yi mu wearing a suit!! i feel kinda sad for lym now because he's so nice that he's always randomly helping hui zhen and also xia qiao out in their business, voluntarily. but at the same time, i don't worry for him as much, HE'S A RIOT. ABSOLUTELY. he knows how to have fun on his own HAHA. i feel bad for admitting this, but i had fun watching the scenes of him taking care of bai hao yu. lym is a sweet cinnamon roll disguised as a prankster.
  • still skipping all the xia qiao/bai hao yu scenes because it's so pointless. i get xia qiao's dilemma but don't necessary make her actions anymore morally correct. thankfully bai hao yu is not so oblivious and is picking up hints of the truth.
  • ep.14 han xue is still so...annoying. like i don't hate her terribly but she's more like this buzzing mosquito who can't go away. at least i'm kinda glad about the advice chief editor gave to her - it's pretty uplifting and positive, instead of straight out lashing out on han xue being "desperate" about love, which i might have imagined some other drama to develop that way.
  • isn't it great how li hui zhen responds with chief editor's unhappiness about her "lack of fashion" is more like oh okay than ending up wallowing in low self-esteem. there is no clear standards of fashion after all. as zhu ying said, it's about being yourself.
  • ep.14~15 have been seriously fun to watch because it's SO MUCH FUN watching bai hao yu finally messing things up!!! like geez his character have been so boring and totally feels like 太子 v2.0, showering affection on the wrong person. the epitome of tsundere too.
  • ep17~18 the lhz/bhy pair is feeling more legit now, especially after they seem to be going in the direction of bhy falling for lhz regardless whether she is THE childhood friend or not. that has always been my concern so i'm glad they're using the misunderstanding for them to falling in love with each other over again, rather than solely because of them being childhood friends. the gaming scene was pretty cute too. LHZ NEEDS TO CONFESS HER REAL IDENTITY TO BHY ALREADY EHMAHGERDZZZ or rather BHY NEEDS TO KNOW ALREADY IT'S SO OBVIOUS except lhz isn't admitting so what can be done yo
  • ep.18 holy shit...this drama just recognised the problem of its premise all in one scene???? wow. nice. lhz intending to admit her identity because "it's wrong to keep lying" and knowing that the time is probably mature for her to reveal her secret after their interactions. "if i think that my looks changing would make him like me any lesser, am i not belittling our relationship?" !!!!!!! "越是珍贵的人,越是应该坦诚相待"
  • "what if he can't accept the truth?" "that's impossible. i have faith in him" i think the drama did well in the aspect that, at this point, we can understand that bhy is probably a better person than how we saw him at first, and can prob understand lhz's faith in him.
  • ep.18 i'm really feeling so bad for my poor lym :(
  • ep.18 bhy is feeling more like human, more expressive and warm. really not sure wtf to say about nai lun's acting lmao. anw, that rly contributed to feeling much better about the main pairing, seeing them get along and really get to warm up to each other. not merely bc they were such close childhood friends but truly because they get along together well - i definitely love seeing that 'people who are meant to be with each other will always find a way to be with each other' more than anything in romance. i also liked the scene which bhy talked about feeling sad and empty in the days of US without lhz's postcards. like i felt bad for the both of them, just a wee bit.
  • so far it's still great that lhz hasn't been FORCED and made to go through the typical cliche idol drama trope of 'remaking an ugly girl (usually in a moment under the supervision of the male lead)' like she's still allowed to be herself in the setting and pressure of a trendy fashion industry. despite facing pressure, she wasn't forced to transform yet. though i still can't conclude how the drama is gonna treat this issue, i would like to make the conjecture that she is the one who will independently make the decision to change her looks, under no pressure of men or society but her being the master of her own decisions
  • ep.19 as much as i get xia qiao's conflicted feelings but it doesn't make her indecisive/selfish attitude and passive aggressive methods to prevent lhz from revealing her identity less frustrating. BUT THANK GOD our fem lead has her own judgement and sticks with it!!! it's unbelievable how many characters in typical idol dramas have succumbed to the stupidity of not being able to believe in their own judgement. with this, i think lhz evolved a lot from the person she was before at the beginning who went to unnecessary lengths to hide her identity, she started out to be more frustrating and unlikable.
  • ep.19 I KNEW IT I FUCKING KNEW IT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR LYM TO BE A MAN WITH TRAGIC PAST HAHAHAHHAAH FUCK MEI MEI IS HIS FUCKIN DOG HAHAHAHAHAH IT JUST ISN'T COMPATIBLE TO HIS STYLE
  • ep.19 lym's confession??? ummmmm. i'm so glad that he's soooo honest with his own feelings, even though he wasn't taken seriously eventually. not unexpected, it's a very cliched thing to happen to second male leads. but because it's bin bin, so i felt extra bad for precious lym. indeed, it's really hard to not feel for characters who look like they're usually lively and full of shenanigans, are in fact privately serious people who do what they do to make others happy.
  • sierra li needs to stop being stuck in the 'bestie gone wrong roles' hell. it's not just the problem of seeing her reprise such pointless characters, but why can't we see proper friends supporting and loving each other without having conflicts over A MAN. staph. men aren't worth the precious love friends share with each other. it's sad to justify xia qiao's crush on HER BESTEST GIRL FRIEND'S VERY IMPORTANT FRIEND with her lack of family warmth... isn't lhz supposedly her family?? why is xq behaving in a way which will potentially hurt lhz now?
  • ep.28 yimu: "huizhen and i are very similar. we fell in love at the same time. me with her, and her with bai haoyu. the only difference is that only i am drowning" </3 i can't help but laugh when he lied to lhz that he fell in his bathroom though lmao he really always try to hide his truest feelings by lightening the load of others
  • ep.28 bhy's confession may be kinda weird like bruh who confesses to another person and also admit u have a gf atm... u will def scare the girl if she didn't know better. but thankfully it essentially meant that he was being honest. and for us who knows better, i'm so thankful that he was being so honest with his feelings with lhz now alr. and ofc it meant that he loves her regardless of their childhood history or not - awesome.
  • ep.29 if there's one thing which i was waiting for to allow me to unhesitatingly rate this drama higher, was how the drama dealt with lhz and xq's friendship when xq's lie was known to lhz... AND IT DIDN'T DISAPPOINT ME. THANK THE GODS. too many dramas wld screw this up, but this drama didn't. i can't imagine that. the way this drama treats friendship is way better than love o2o lmao. "you love huizhen like how you loved bai haoyu" said yimu to xq -- and that already proves how this drama views friendship being as important as romantic love - so far no other drama have really done so. even though xq's actions for a period of time was rly dislikable but i'm glad she rly loved lhz and had her own her mind ultimately. i really love lhz/xq's friendship, i really felt for them.
  • ep.29 i'm still heartbroken for lym. yimu is rly trying his best to salvage the whole situation even though he has no obligations to do so. "you should never act against your will in front of me" --- it was such an impt thing he said to lhz b/c he was so afraid lhz wld act out of pity for him but not love. and indeed lhz didn't. lym is not only a precious guy but he's the saviour to this drama, he singlehandedly averted the potential drags. yimu is really the best chara of the drama.
