• ep.4 "are the men of your era more respectful of women?" "yes but some men still try to force women against their will" "i will try to be more of a gentleman for you then" "you are already better for being willing to want to reflect and improve on yourself"
  • ep.6 "loving someone while getting married to another may seem to be nothing out of the common but i will not be that person. even if i get disappointed, i will never love another. for the sweet dreams of the night, i am willing to bear this loneliness of the day, even until my last breath."
  • ep.7 half-naked khunluang yoo
  • ep.8 manee may be hysteric? don't think either manee or gun/drong are at fault. "because we can't please everyone, it'll be troublesome if your world is too crowded. make your world smaller, and keep your loved ones. a small world is easier to take care of." "will you be contented if only i were in that world?" (xiao nai said something very similar but i was so mad at him unlike khunluang saying it because the context are so different!)
  • ep.8 feeding medicine! *manee sits on khunluang's lap* "khunluang may feel shy but i do not!"
  • ep.9 more tripping and falling ONTO khunluang?? dayum i wanna fall ONTO my crush too uwu 10/10 approves manee shamelessly stealing a hug. everyone loves to see embarrassed khunluang!!
  • ep.9 forlorn manee softens even the hardest of hearts. poor khunluang who is so innocent!
  • ep.12 khunluang hugging manee so tightly from day till night like a sensible child who finally had something he couldn't compromise - which was losing manee. this was the most simultaneously heart-fluttering and heartbreaking scene of the drama so far. absolutely beautiful.
  • ep.12 khunluang being generally awesome for being honest with himself and others and not wanting to snowball the misunderstanding with prayong!! "if i don't clarify, it would be the same as lying to someone"
  • ep.15 confession!!! the scene actually reflected their dynamics pretty well. manee was the one who initiated the confession verbally, being the active one. i love how she is so straightforward and honest with her feelings. while khunluang listens and reciprocates with actions (gifting manee the flower of love). he conveys his love with his endearing gaze. i just adore so much their marriage of the conservative and passionate, they make great opposites.
  • ep.15 khunluang's mum advising khunluang to respect manee's decision to return (yes this needs to be told to him) and khunluang's plan to win her with love (bruh i'm glad u r gonna take her back to see her mum for a closure eventually or else u r real selfish here for preventing from returning) (while i understand khunluang's lack of trust is more in the mirror than manee it's still kinda disheartening he couldnt put more faith in manee or consider manee's feelings more)
  • ep.16 守身如玉的少爷真的是太萌了
  • ep. 16 manee clearly and calmly communicating with khunluang about her wish to return to the modern era to let her family and friends know she's alright, and trying to assure and deal with khunluang's insecurity. A+ communication. my heart aches for khunluang's insecurity that the mirror will shatter and manee will never return (but he still needs to think more from manee's perspective). ;_;
  • ep. 16 khunluang laughing heartily for once!! I'M SO DONE. and it was because manee's joke lmao. manee has always been making him smile with her shenanigans but it's the first time he has laughed like this oh goooosh i love them so much I'M THE WEAKEST TO SUCH DYNAMICS YOZ ;~~~; also manee's hilarious 'fried bird' response to khunluang's ~romantic implied confession poetry~ was srsly a snapshot of their r/s in one scene. I LOVE THEM.
  • ep. 16 manee's mum crying when listening to manee's life story in the past ;____; it's so heartbreaking that those are certainly tears of relief that her daughter had married well and lived a blissful life but also tears of grief that she got confirmation that her daughter will never return to her. (let's just ignore how the fuck gun's grandma knew so much in detail even though she wasn't born then yet but only heard stuff from her mum AND HOW DID THEIR NEIGHBOUR'S PHOTOS END UP WITH THEM)
  • ep. 16 manee and khunluang not giving a fuck about the superstition of women touching men's head being unlucky, and she gives him a haircut holy goodness?!???! they just didn't give two fucks about their servants going batshit insane over it BECAUSE THEY FUCKING LOVE EACH OTHER BRUH THEY CAN CUT EACH OTHER'S HAIR "then why can men eat the meals women make??" omg married life in the conservative era goals FUCK THE PATRIARCHY...TOGETHER
  • but yes the head is a very important body part in their culture but khunluang just wanted to get a haircut from his wife "touching the head is gonna weaken one's energy/power!" [khunluang being hella chill] "i don't have any magic powers.." "and if i do get weakened...it's because of the heart" [FACES MANEE] GEEZUS CHRIST
  • khunluang's expression when he sees manee dressed up for the ball... geezus christ let me off
  • 心疼女主妈妈 女儿被镜子里的老男人拐走了wwwwwwwww
  • ep.17

---

  • this show isn't without its cliche but it's kept to a minimal and were pulled off very well with the convincing performance of the leads. anyone would be would fall hard in love with khunluang's loving and deeply affectionate gaze. it's also hard to not love manee's quirky and mischievous personality, especially when she can also pull off as demure, learned rich family's daughter. pancake does cutesy and angry all very naturally and lovable.
  • the leads have such good performance that i can feel their burning romantic tension steaming off my screen.
  • this show deals with the well-attested time travel trope in its little special ways. they touched on the more delicate aspect of the time traveller's emotional state - manee's insecurity of where she truly belongs have proven to be a side effect of her odyssey. it's not all fun and games for manee. when she only has khunluang (and his mum) in this strange olden era, she can't help but feel insecure especially when reserved khunluang won't confess his feelings directly to an oblivious manee yet.
  • maybe it's because i'm just really weak to r/s dynamics in romcoms like this since i loved itakiss, i love the tension created when a seemingly initiative and bubbly girl who loves a reserved guy too much, yet the guy takes precaution with their feelings. like they love so hard that they become so foolish and oblivious?? yoooo. they are like fools in love because they will try their hardest to express their love but may be going too far, and they tend to hurt themselves at the littlest things, oblivious that the guy have long harboured feelings for them. manee was the same as kotoko in this aspect too. except she can be composed and smart in the correct situations while khunluang isn't so much of an ass like naoki. (naoki was much younger after all.)
  • and yo we gotta talk about how manee fell love at first sight with khunluang like kotoko did with naoki too. worse still, manee fell in love with him JUST WITH A PHOTOGRAPH DESPITE KNOWING HE'S A GODDAMN ANCESTOR (yeah kinda creepy. should be fine with u close one eye on that). and to make things more miraculous, she TIME TRAVELS into HER CRUSH'S BEDROOM, and that didn't seem to faze her as much as it should be expected, as if time travelling wasn't already crazy enough. imagine being given a portal into your celebrity crush's room. geezus.
  • even though quite similar to QIHM in premise, they are different in how the non-romance subplot involves the pairing. the non-romance subplot is something i would think of as a more macro issue to be concerned with (eg. QIHM - restoration of the queen's position while TWP deals with the defense of Siam). in QIHM, boong do was mostly dealing with this matter on his own, with hee jin merely only being passively involved. while TWP allows both manee and khunluang to actively participate in the protection of the nation together. while the former is not wrong, i definitely much more prefer our leads being allies with each other to solve a problem. my only big issue with QIHM before was definitely how hee jin was very uninvolved with boong do's life as a person, as if their love had nothing to do with boong do's history and background as a person.
  • on top of how manee and khunluang's personality contrasts - manee is passionate and active while khunluang is composed and reserved - but both of them are similar in how they have very independent thinking (khunluang, from a diplomat's family, having studied abroad, was insistent about making his own decision in marriage in the era which marriage is still only decided by one's parents while still retaining a sense of loyalty to his own tradition - all similar to manee) yet they were fully receptive of the ideas and values of the opposite party's world.
  • i think manee really truly belongs to the past era. all the forces in the world and beyond the realm too are pushing her towards the era. my pet theory is that time is cyclical for her. (yet it's also arguable that the two eras in the story run in parallel)
