- my fifth birthday party on the patio at our house in clovis, which coincidentally is three streets away from the home my parents and siblings are currently living in. there were japanese lanterns hanging up and i'm pretty sure that's the year i got my bike.
- my best elementary school friend- kristin. we used to wear these tie-dye jumpers and one time in the summer we slept on pool chairs in her yard. we'd ride our bikes up to the water witch's house and she'd give us a soda (that may have been a one-time thing). she was taller than me, that was the only thing i disliked about her.
- falling off my bike and my parents scrubbing pebbles and dirt out of my face for hours (well, you know how everything seems longer than it is when you're little).
- finding salamanders on the walk home and wishing i could keep them as pets.
- the camping trip where my brother threw up on my favorite flowered pillow sham in the middle of the night and we packed up right then and went home.
- watching anne of green gables and anne of avonlea over and over.
- tomato soup and grilled cheese and top ramen (dry).
- power outages and my mom's oil lamp.
- moon shoes.
- book fairs and christmas workshop at school.
- church plays.
- me and trevor making a tent and putting all of our stuffed animals in it. we treated them like they were our friends and clearing out cabinets in their hallway and sleeping in them.
- t.j.'s cereal cabinet, which was my childhood heaven.
- sliding on the floor at t.j.'s in our socks.
- me and my brother fighting over floorspace in front of the t.v.
- me and my mom watching beverly hills, 90210.
- t.g.i.f. on a.b.c. and that show with topanga and corey.
- putting my brother's hand in warm water to make him wet the bed...him spilling it all over the bed. me and my friend bribing him to let us paint his nails. me getting busted in the morning.
- sliding down hanna's stairs in sleeping bags and playing a care bear game in her living room where the furniture was clouds and we'd jump from cloud to cloud without touching the floor.
- my grandma taking me to the movies and taking us to the pool in the summer.
- my aunt and uncle taking me camping with them to crater lake.
- my short-lived obsession with the smashing pumpkins.
- my long-lived obsession with robert downey, jr.
- loving it.
