- Worrying about Freddy Kreuger-like scars
- General pain, discomfort, itching and lack of mobility. Heat and sun seems to aggravate the discomfort.
- Being unable to go to swim practice or yoga class. Usually, when I'm stressed or anxious, I exercise or clean or cook. I haven't felt much like cooking until yesterday and went back to yoga a couple of days ago. Hopefully, I'll be able to swim tomorrow. Luckily, I had just cleaned the entire house when I burned myself.
- I haven't been able to exfoliate or moisturize my face for a week. It feels simultaneously flaky, greasy, dirty and itchy. I'm not generally prone to breakouts, but with my luck, I probably will. Yuck. At this point, I'm with gonna need a facial, but who knows when I'll be able to get one.
- I need a brow wax really badly, but won't be able to get one for a while. Maybe I'll start getting them threaded.
- There's an extra 30 minutes in my morning routine and bedtime routine. (cleansing, applying ointment and bandaging). It will probably be that way for the next six months. Hello silicone scar sheets!
- The cost of going through bandages, scar sheets, ointments and sunblock will not be insubstantial.
- I haven't been able to wash my own hair
- I have to avoid the sun like a vampire.
One final note, and it's something that definitely does not suck. My husband has been so sweet and caring and supportive through all of this. He took me to the doctor, got bandages and ointments at 2 a.m., stayed home from work to take care of me, washed my hair, brought me flowers and chocolate and reassured me he would love me and find me beautiful no matter what. Not once did he complain. I don't know what I would have done without him.
