- gugudan (stylized as: gu9udan, usually lowercased) is a girl group from Jellyfish Entertainment that successfully debuted in June 28th 2016. Their name, 구구단, literally means multiplication table in Korean.
- According to Jellyfish, the group's name actually means "9 girls with 9 different charms". The members are then assigned with representative numbers from 1-9 plus their symbols. 9 girls and 9 charms = 9x9.
- Another meaning is that gugudan is a wordplay from another Korean word 극단 meaning theatre, and so gugudan portray theatrical plays derived from different pieces of literature and/or art every comeback.
