you’re not your emotions.

  • ━ if you feel like a failure, you aren’t. you just need reminders that mistakes help you grow. they don’t define you or put you behind everyone else. there are endless new sunrises and opportunities for new beginnings. your past doesn’t define your future and you can always change into the person you want to be.
  • ━ if you struggle with criticism, you’re not “too sensitive”. you’re a soft soul who is trying their best and that’s not a bad thing. remember that most of the time it’s not personal. if the criticism isn’t constructive the person doesn’t deserve your attention. no doubt that your sensitive trait helps you be more compassionate and that’s beautiful.
  • ━ if you feel lost, you are not. every day you’re growing and changing towards something even if you can’t see it. you are where you’re meant to be and you can change where you want to go. the future is scary but today was scary yesterday but you did alright. it’s the same for next week or five years in the future. you don’t need to have it all figured out and everyone around you feels the same. just take it a day at a time, make some goals and enjoy the journey of finding yourself. and if something doesn’t feel right have the courage to pursue the path less taken.
  • ━ if you feel stuck, you are not. you have more control over things than you think you do. you can always change yourself, surround yourself with kinder people, meet new friends, join new clubs, go on adventures, ask for professional help, break old habits, start jogging, take up art classes, wake up earlier, eat healthier or read more. it’s all in your hands and time is there for you if you learn how to manage it. there is always a way to change, there’s always hope.
  • ━ if you feel like you’re not good enough at a subject, you are, just maybe not yet. you need to believe in yourself - it does not matter if you don’t succeed at first. just do your best, practice a lot, even if it’s a few minutes per day, and the hard things become easier. you’re so intelligent but you don’t know that because you’ve told yourself so many times that you’re just naturally bad at it.
  • ━ if you feel like you’re unlovable or ugly, you’re not. you’re a beautiful person with a radiant smile and a big heart and you make so many people happy every day in moments, whether it’s a fleeting moment with a stranger, or longer times, like in your loved one’s thoughts or in someone’s happy memory of you. take care of yourself because like a flower, you’re prettiest when you’re healthy and happy.
  • ━ if you feel alone, you’re not. many people know exactly how you feel right now and many people like you have made it through. one day someone will come into your life when you least expect it and love you for you. being alone right now does not mean you will be alone forever. not everyone is the type to play mind games and hurt you then leave. you will find someone who will brighten your life so much they will make up for all the lonely times, whether in a coffee shop or at your new job or in the rain.
  • ━ if you feel hopeless, you are not. everything you’re going through will ease. it may not go away from your mind but the pain will get easier to handle. everything is temporary and life has a funny way of paving ways for the sunlight. if you remember the last time you laughed so much you cried or felt completely content and warm, you will feel that way again. please keep trying to take care of yourself because self destruction is a tough habit to break and you will know why recovery is so freeing once you get there. life is more than punishing yourself and having the same patterns repeat. it’s ok to lean on others for support and admit that you need help because the voices in your head are just lies. you will be okay, you will be happy again and I believe in you.
