Winters Bone ♚
Factor: ★ ★ ★ ★ Acting: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ♚ Plot: ★ ★ & ½ Amazingness: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Film: You know its amazing when I can only watch it once. So speechless. This was exactly what I wanted. Where can I buy the book? Never Let Me Go
Factor: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Acting: ★ ★ Plot: ★ ★ ★ & ½ Dragging on and on and leading you to fucking nowhere: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Film: This fucked me up. It did. GOD. Yknow. I didn't even finish it. I don't think I ever will. The Hunger Games ♚ ♚
Factor: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ♚ Acting: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ♚ ♚ Plot: ★ ★ ★ ★ Unexpected-ness: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Keepin' it real (or translation: dedication to the book): ★ ★ ★ Film: (i am being so shit biased as of this moment right now.) Really happy with this. It didn't fuck shit up too much. However, there are some questionable choices. And then there are some honorable ones. And then there are some very, very honorable ones (yup, i'm fuckin talkin casting & acting!!!) "We have a winner" Hell yeah, we fuckin do. Nowhere Boy
Factor: ★ ★ ★ Acting: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Soundtrack: ★ ★ ★ ★ Aaron Johnson and Thomas Sangster-ness: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interest: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Film: I could definitely watch this again. It made me very happy though (?) Don't know what that is. The Art Of Getting By
Factor: ★ ★ (+1 ★ for George's wisdom & simple minded-ness) Acting: ★ ★ & ½ Plot: ★ ★ ★ ★ George's wisdom (& simple minded-ness): ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Film: Really interesting. Definitely a good point. Yknow, I really did understand what he was trying to say. Not sure if I would watch it again. Not for the same reasons, though. Would definitely recommend. It's Kind Of A Funny Story
Factor: ★ ★ ★ ★ Acting: ★ ★ & ½ Plot: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Relevance: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Film: I don't know. This film didn't fit my criteria at all, but I still enjoyed it. I did learn a lot from it. Edit: From here on in, the timeline shall progress a bit unsteadily, due to my loss of records regarding the specifics about some films.
Like Crazy ♚
Factor: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ♚ ♚ Acting: ★ ★ ★ Plot: ★ ★ ★ & ½ Amazingness: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Film: Like Crazy is a really good film. I could definitely watch it again. But I still can't, for the life of me, figure out what attracts me to this film so much, especially considering that the acting and plot were barely bearable. I guess it's just so many good things in one film. Yelchin and Jones had really good chemistry, and Jennifer Lawrence did so damn well in this one that I felt obligated to bump up the acting rating by a whole star! Brilliant. One of my new favorite summer films. The Poker House ♚
Factor: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ♚ Acting: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ♚ Plot: ★ ★ ★ ★ (Ability to make me) Emotional-ness: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ♚ Film: Despite my history of always needing to know what I'm getting into before I watched the film, this film shocked me. I'm not sure if it was lack of resources or perhaps I was just lazy, but I was thoroughly surprised by the events in this film. This film is a really good example of fine story telling. It's one of those rare films that make you feel like you had personally experienced all the events you had just watched. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and now consider it one of my favorites. Black Swan ♚
Factor: ★ & ½ Acting: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ♚ Plot: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ♚ Provoking-ness: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ♚ Film: I have since come to the conclusion that all my favorite films MUST have brilliant to excellent acting. Which is probably why I stick to films of certain actors and actresses. Nevertheless, this was an amazing film. The acting was amazing and I LOVED the plot, and specifically how thought-provoking the overall film and it's ideas are. It did influence me quite a lot. However, I am not sure if I would recommend someone to watch this, though. Let Me In ♚
Factor: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ♚ Acting: ★ ★ ★ ★ Plot: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ♚ Provoking-ness: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ♚ Film: Another quality I've since noticed is always present in all my favorite films is that they make you feel so involved with the characters, and you soon realize that the saddest you've felt in the duration of the whole film, is the end. Because all these films make you want to wish you could just continue and live on with the characters, even after the movie ends. I've found that this movie is the ideal example for that. (I'm sorry if I wasn't able to explain my idea right, but if you've ever felt this way, you should be able to understand.) Such an amazing, amazing movie. Casting was great, and I just loved all the elements. My favorite movie by lightyears.
