- 1/2 cup oats (I use old fashioned, not quick cooking)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup water
- dash salt
- 1 T peanut butter
- chocolate chips
- Mix oats, milk, water, and salt in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave 3-4 minutes, depending on whether you like yours runny or thick. (I prefer thick) Stir in peanut butter, then sprinkle with chocolate chips. Sure, the chocolate chips aren't necessary, but they make it a little more decadent, which is what I need sometimes on a Friday morning :)
This breakfast is not only cheap, but filling. Thanks to the combo of fiber from the oats and protein and fat from the peanut butter, I won't be hungry for several hours. Bon appetit!
