- talc it's almost impossible to found cosmetics without this mineral, especially foundations, bb creams, eyeshadows, and etc so unfortunately sometime i have to give it and buy items that contain it. studies show it can do awful things to your lungs and can even cause lung cancer. but that's not all! it's also linked with ovarian and skin cancer as well.
- pearl powder i often find asian products that use this in their products. it sounds cute though, right? lavishing your skin in pearls and whatnot. it's commonly used in ance products and can be used to lighten skin. sounds lovely, but some pearls may contain mercury and lead (or so they say). i know it's probably safe, but i'm always a little bit concerned about what i'm putting on or in my body when they involve harmful heavy metals.
- parabens there are so many of them! and usually, every product has every single one of them listed in their ingredients. now if you thought talc was hard to get away from, wait until you meet these guys. they aren't only used in cosmetics, but skincare products ands toothpaste and shampoos. and did i mention even food? they mess with your hormones real bad. i mean, they pretend they are estrogen and that can help form breast cancer. not cool. the thing is, some will say they are safe and others will tell you they're absolutely the worst thing and you should get them out of your life completely. i like to try to stay neutral and attempt to avoid them, but won't stress out too much while using them.
