- working frantically to finish up the summer quarter
- seeing one of the red-headed parakeets on the balcony (!)
- staying inside, rain tapping against the windows
- a couple ravens coming to visit on the balcony, watching them watching me
- sleeping in, cuddling for at least an hour before getting up to make pour-over coffee
- waking up at 6:30 for my flight, spending all day studying C++, taking the 2-hour final from 8:45pm-10:45pm, passing the class (ahhhh!)
- singing made-up melodies into my phone
- making solar eclipse plans with W
- seeing my parents again, driving all over WA with them
- riding the paddle wheel boat across the Columbia river
- driving up to the Olympic Peninsula, getting amazing organic meals at a restaurant-farm
- waking up bathed in sunlight, taking a walk down the street, meeting some very cute dogs
- star-gazing up in the mountains at night through an intense telescope, 40 degrees, wind whipping around our faces
- local black currant lavender cider with my smoked salmon pasta
- hiking through the Olympic National parks, admiring Hoh Rainforest and its wild beauty
- waking up early to walk along the private beach and watch the sunrise
- going to an honor system produce stand, being shocked that such a thing exists
- getting back home, my parents taking both W and Z for burgers for dinner, everyone in awe at how well they get along
- watching the solar eclipse in the path of totality with W and Z, realizing that nothing else can compare
- Z driving us back through the Oregon desert, a little Lego man rescued from the side of the road, joking nonstop the whole time
- flying back to SF with W, our first flight together
- a woman across from me at the gate saying "He's crazy about you - you can tell by the way he looks at you. It's so sweet."
- watching DBS with W, poking fun at the show and at ourselves
- ordering sushi, trying unagi
- having ravioli with homemade sauce & fresh foccacia for dinner
- wrapping up what is quite possibly the best month of my life with a clean apartment in the best neighborhood in SF
