week 009

• going to Tilda's bake shop, mini cannoli
• calling David while he drove home from Tampa, happy to hear his voice
• one last bagel with cream cheese while en route to McArthur airport
• bumpy flight home, happy to be back to normal life but sad to leave the gorgeous weather
• meeting the kitten, playing with her for hours
• productive workday at the shop despite my cough returning
• late Walmart trip w/ David for pumpkins (for jack-o-lanterns) and Halloween decorations for the Grill
• playing with the kitten + catnip spray when we got home
• going to sleep cuddled up with the kitten
• an extremely productive work day after finally getting more than 4 hours of sleep in a night!
• delicious dinner of spinach, sliced strawberries, and fresh mozzarella
• David apparently getting home and standing in the hallway for 4 minutes listening to me sing Susanne Sundfør's "It's All Gone Tomorrow", then popping his grinning head in the door to tell me he likes how I sing
• waking up at 7am for work, moving my head and finding Ziggy (the kitten) right next to me
• crazy-busy work day, but satisfying
• the FedEx driver asking "Do you have a problem with me?" and instantly replying with a completely serious face, "TEN OF THEM." I've never heard him laugh so hard.
• climbing onto the tool truck, getting a cotton candy lollipop. neighbor hops on: "how come she gets a sucker? you always mention something about sucking but i never get one" me: "...I'm just happy we aren't the only ones that make gay jokes about Pete"
• wishing one of the delivery guys a happy retirement
• sleeping curled up with Ziggy
• waking up, taking care of David who didn't feel good
• reading James' red wine-inspired emails, replying to them whilst laughing
• making ground turkey tacos, then cleaning the entire kitchen, singing City & Colour as I did so
• sketching a ton
• more work on the novel
• making iced tea + popcorn with David, working but checking in on each other often, being happy
