Things I erroneously thought about it:
- That transferring wasn't a big deal
o Wrong. The differences in pre-reqs and majors/minors meant that my 4-yr. plan got put on hold
- That people would be more mature, open-minded and diverse.
o Mostly wrong. For the most part, Chapman is full of sorority girls, frat boys, and the film students.
- That I would meet like minds and make life-lasting friends.
o Wrong. I have yet to make a good, close, lasting friend my entire college career.
- That these would be the best years of my life.
o Partially wrong.
- That my professors would be laid-back and treat us students more as their intellectual peers rather than a bunch of dumb kids.
o Wrong. Again, there was an exception here and there but for the most part my professors were up-tight, pompous academicians that knew nothing of the real world outside of thick textbooks. st minute and I still easily passed all my classes.
- That I wouldn't have as many forced presentations and participatory assignments.
o Wrong. Even in college, professors haven't quite realized that some people are naturally shy and quiet and you are not going to "bring them out of their shell" at age 22.
