• pinnacles - pinnacle rocks, short hike through caves
• crater lake - great blue lake in a crater, with an island
• mount rainier - narada falls, mount rainier
• redwood - towering redwood trees
• zion again - the narrows, most of the angel's landing hike
• bryce - snowy hoodoos
• pinnacles again - saw 15 (!!) california condors this time
• north cascades - lake diablo, water turned turquoise-green by rock flour
• kings canyon again - general grant tree (fire scar)

• joshua tree - spooky alien trees, imposing rock formations, skull rock
• lassen - manzanita lake
• lassen again - sulphur works, bumpass hell, cinder cone, burney falls
