- on january 30th, 2008, yoongi applied to level up on a daum cafe called jradio2.
- later, in june 2008, yoongi uploaded a post asking people to review his first beat, which can be listened to here.
- yoongi attended his first two years of high school at kangbuk high school, an all male school, from march 2009 to late 2010 while living in daegu.
- on may 30th 2009 yoongi competed in and won a basketball competition with his team from high school. he was recognized as first place among his team. a video of the game can be viewed here.
- yoongi uploaded a song that he wrote and arranged to nate under the name gloss on may 22, 2010. it was performed by naksyun, the leader of yoongi's rap group at the time, d-town.
- in 2010, yoongi went to the "summer week&t" festival at naksan beach from august 6-7. it was a trip he went on with a few other people from his school. (13.07.28 sukira)
- on august 13th 2010, yoongi performed with his rap group d-town at the show 'live in d' in dongseong-ro, daegu, under the name gloss.
- yoongi began the audition process for bighit's new group, bangtan sonyeondan, in 2010.
- first he attended a physical audition on september 19th in daegu.
- upon making it through, he proceeded to a final rap battle on october 24th.
- yoongi officially moved to seoul on november 7th 2010.
- while living as a trainee in seoul, yoongi attended apgujeong high school. he completed his final year of high school there, and graduated on february 8th, 2012.
- during the final 2011 hit it audition on august 21st at club nb2, yoongi gave a performance as a guest along with the two other bts members at the time, namjoon and hoseok.
- on september 11th 2011, yoongi appeared on sbs 8pm news along with namjoon and hoseok for recognition of their song, 'satoori rap'.
