• Must haves ang Stethoscope, BP app, thermometer, watch, penlight and a face mask(for your protection).
  • It is good also if you have an ophthalmo/otoscope, reflex hammer, pocket vision charts, tape measure(lalo na sa OB), tourniquet, kapag wala ka at least 2 in a group meron dapat.
  • It is also good to have a small notebook with you para i-take down mo ang mga kelangan mo gawin sa ward and also for some notes. Di naman talaga necessity ang laptop pero at least meron kayo dapat sa grupo kasi you will be typing a lot of documents and presentations also. And also a typewriter for each group.
  • Dapat din meron ka nang Scrub suit na plain white (for Surg, OBGyn,ENT/Ophtha). White kasi ang color code ng clerks pero pag Fabella alam ko kahit anong kulay.
  • Bili ka rin nung handy pocket notes(OCOC notes tawag namin dun) for Med, Surg, Ped, OB and Minors, believe me it helps! Lots of bond paper and index cards, carbon papers and syempre printer (kelangan to talaga) for each group. White boards and markers for the major rotations.
  • As for the books both big and small....Harrisons, Handbook of Emergencies,Washington Manual and Medicine Blue book for IM; Adams, Kaplan, Neuro and Neurosurg illustrated by Lindsay for NeuroPsych; Nelsons for Pedia plus they give you this small booklet sa Pedia with all this Pedia stuff; Williiams, APMC, CompreGyne for ObGyn; Andrews for Derma (kelangan talaga ito or pwede ka naman humiram sa mga natapos na sa Derma rotation); Schwarz, Surg Recall for Surgery; your usual Ophtha and ENT books. You won't get to read a lot pero you will have to glance at them whenever the need arises lalo na kapag magre-refer ka dapat may alam ka sa kaso mo or else boljak yan.
