  • re. ASA for lomo cams: Go for 400 speed. Shots with 100 tend to come out rather dark, even in bright light.
  • It is hard to shoot handheld with anything below 1/60. As a rule of thumb you should never shoot lower than your focal distance while handheld. Eg, on a 50mm lens you should never shoot lower than 1/50 sec.
  • When shooting indoors, it's usually good to set aperture to as big as it will go eg. F4.0 or F2.8. And DIFFUSE your flash.
  • f8 is generally the aperture that provides the sharpest point of focus on lenses. That doesn’t mean you should always shoot at f8.
