• ok so my concern was that I dont really want sekibanki to play by joon's rules unwillingly or led by pride or something of that kind
  • I suggest something like
  • sometime after joon introduces herself as a plague god, seki asks reimu about her (who I think should be somewhat tolerant of her since she lets her live on the village, or otherwise she's keeping an eye on her), to which reimu tells she's the instigator of a recent incident and only freshly received her punishment with the promise of only targeting people who have money to spend. reimu asks if there's a problem, but sekibanki doesn't comment on it.
  • so, to joon's proposition she decides to play along feigning hurt youkai pride and see how it goes. joon's chosen target turns out to be either not that rich, or a decent person contrary to what joon thought
  • (i assume seki knows this and that about a lot of people in the village from both her work and general curiosity, since like I said, she must like humans somewhat and find them interesting even if she's not super sociable)
  • so she subtly interferes with joon's scheme so it doesn't work out, then to Joon's anger informs her of her poor choice in target and threatens to report her misbehavior to the shrines
  • joon freaks out but sekibanki laughs and says she's joking and doesn't actually care but she doesn't want to take part in her schemes.
  • "just so you know, my life isn't that bad; I chose it for myself.
  • scaring people may be necessary, but it gets boring really fast...
  • life in the village appears to be more interesting,
  • at least to me, being born human.
  • I'm guessing you've embodied plague for as long as you are, but you can still understand what I mean, right?
  • putting so much effort into leaving a mark on their lives."
  • "........."
