reading habits : i want to develop a reading habit because...

  • i want to nourish my brain.
  • i want to learn.
  • i want to interpret.
  • i want to identify with others.
  • i want to see the world from other perspectives.
  • i want to share my readings, and maybe, be a part of a community.

i've asked my language and history teachers what they think about it, what tips they can give me, etc. i also saw posts on pinterest.

so, this list will be divided into two sections: tips from pinterest posts, and tips from my teachers.

tips from pinterest

  • set time and place for reading: where are you going to read? when are you going to read? in the morning, at night, after lunch, at school, at work, in the subway, in your room, in the patio...
  • set a deadline to finish what you're reading (something realistic, please).
  • track your reading progress.
  • talk about your readings with your friends and/or over social media. it will motivate you.
  • read books you actually enjoy.
  • start small + don't rush the process.
  • read whenever you get free time.

my own tips always carry a book!
