- I will be exempt from my mom's nightly grumbling about politics, lazy youth, etc.

- I can meet people who share my taste in music, movies, etc.
- I can meet young men
- I can stay up as late into the night as I desire
- I won't hear my mom's shrill, annoying laugh so often
- I can accomplish goals and feel proud of myself on my own terms
