- we were ten feet away from several of them!
- fishing in the bay with Dad on a charter boat
- a possible flounder and/or crab meal!
- cooked on a beachside fire, perhaps?

- tall, composed egrets in the marshes
- reading on the beach under our new umbrella
- poolside crossword puzzles

- wearing my new black-with-white-polka dots suit on the beach for the first time

- sitting on the pier
- clam strips!
- maybe a passing (but not lingering) summer storm
- a close encounter with lightning while out on the water, and a subsequent race back to the marina
