- internet culture
- a big hyperfixation of mine is various types of internet culture, particularly from the years 2005 - 2015. i indulge in it as a form of nostalgia and inner child healing, not because i like it as an aesthetic. i've been online since about 2007 or so (not a flex obviously, but it happened, so oh well) and while i was very young i still experienced a lot of what the old net had to offer, and i miss it!
- id love to get more into niche internet media preservation. i've dabbled in it a couple of times over the years, but id love to make it a hobby. the internet archive is my best friend.
- my interest in the old web unfortunately does include more problematic aspects of the net like imageboards (4chan & 2channel mainly), unsavory male-dominated internet fanbases (weebs, bronies, general geek shit), less-than-pc internet humor, etc.. i acknowledge the damage these things have done over the years and my interest in them is purely surface level and more akin to a scientist inspecting a specimen in a petri dish. i am not like those strange 4chan larpers on pinterest i prommy
- video games
- i love video games! i've been a nintendo and sega nerd since i was very little (around 4 or 5 years old). i have very little interest in xbox or playstation beyond a few games i played as a kid on my older brother's consoles. i was that loser that would bud into the kids in school fighting over whether the xbox 360 or ps3 was better with "i like da wii :D" and then id get splattered onto a wall.
- sometimes more than actually PLAYING video games, i really love video game history. dates and timelines and evolutions and development are my favorite things.
- my favorite game consoles are the gamecube, ds, 3ds, n64, dreamcast, and snes
- i also have some favs just based on pure absurdity or concept alone, those being the virtualboy and leapfrog leapster (<- crazy pick i know, but i grew up with one of these and they fascinate me so much. i still have my original one!)
- fashion
- i love and dress in many different kinda of fashion and i do not adhere myself to any one subculture or aesthetic. my favorites at the moment are grunge, jojifuku, coquette, preppy/beachy, and scene. yes, i am very aware these are all extremely different! i still dress in all of them on a regular basis! i like to subvert people's expectations and i don't like feeling like i need to put myself into a box :]
- youtube
- i know this is kind of an odd one but apparently i use youtube more than the average person according to like everybody i know? i looooove youtube.. been my main source of entertainment since 2008 for reals.
- i go into a few of these more in another note but my go-to youtube channels rn are oneyplays, vinesauce vinny/joel/limes, izzzyzzz, d'angelo, brittany broski, bob the drag queen, shunks, peter knetter, nikki carreon, toonrifictariq, ls mark, macdoesit, binging with babish, jabroni mike, brutalmoose, hobo hobo, planet clue, & mistress isabelle brooks
- art
- i very rarely post art publicly but i do love to draw, mostly furries & cute anime girls. i hate drawing men and i never draw them unless theyre stylized enough for me to be able to.
