before i left for japan, i wrote up a list of things that i want to do in japan. i'll be adding more stuff to this list from time to time!

• visit the studio ghibli museum (tokyo)
• attend at least one ayu concert
• attend at least one arashi concert
• maiko photoshoot (kyoto)
• dress up in a furisode/kimono and visit the shrine on new year’s day
• 7 gods of fortune trail on new year's day
• participate in mochi making
• take a picture with hachiko (tokyo)
• go to an onsen
• visit the fushimi inari shrine (kyoto)
• play with the deers at nara
• disneysea! (tokyo)
• count the stones at ryoanji (kyoto)
• hanami
• sylvanian families theme park (tokyo)
• take photos with shisha (okinawa)
• buy marimo (hokkaido)
• try osaka’s takoyaki & okonomiyaki
• then compare it to hiroshima’s okonomiyaki
• place handmade cranes at the hiroshima memorial
• eat lavender ice-cream (hokkaido)
• visit shizuoka aquarium
• take at least one photo with the huge rilakkuma outside the rilakkuma shop
• see fuji-san upclose
• collect stamps from as many train stations as i can get
• go to mount akina and watch downhill races
• take kimono dressing classes/shamisen classes
• attempt to visit all prefectures if possible
• eat castella at nagasaki
• visit toushougu (nikko)
• take a look at the pissed-off-looking daibutsu (kamakura)
• go up to tokyo tower!
• eat oden at a roadside stall
• go to a local matsuri and look at fireworks in yukata
• go on the monster ferris wheel in odaiba
• visit himeji castle
• go to the tottori sand dunes
• visit kinkakuji (kyoto)
• drink the water for health at kiyomizudera
• eat crepes in harajuku
• touch the creepy big floating torii in miyajima
