- Hannes. I am really grateful for him. I don't know if it's love, or a crush, if it's both or neither. In any case he has a very positive influence on my life. Optimistic and friendly, still thoughtful and very smart. I can totally geek out with him over language jokes and we write messages in cyrillic letters, do geography quizzes together and create little riddles for each other. We start using our ridiculously thick Bavarian accents around each other. Kissing is fun. Cuddling is SO MUCH fun. I haven't enjoyed lying in someone's arms that much for a very long time.
- Our Saturday morning started with trip to lake Starnberg. Walking along a street with extremely expensive/ridiculous mansions. Getting lunch at one of my favourite restaurants in Höhenrain. Dumplings. Coffee. Driving, fast. Singing along to the music. Back to bed. Divine.
- I loved spending Saturday evening solving Harry Potter logic puzzles on Sporcle // 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 //
- An appointment at MIRA with Raphaela.
- A not-so-happy fact to be honest but one evening I found a woman sitting on my doorstep when I was taking out the trash. She just sat there in the freezing cold, smoking. She said her foot was hurting and she hadn't been able to walk on. I tried to offer her a ride but in the end I just walked her to her hotel. She could hardly walk. I gave her my number but she never called. She said she didn't even have enough money to buy pain medication. I offered all the help I could but she just thanked me, wished me merry Christmas and said that "all the others had simply looked away and walked on". Just like me, if she hadn't sat in front of the door. A weird and moving encounter.
- Working on a lesson about racism, discrimination and the 'Avenue Q' song Everyone's a Little Bit Racist.
- Watching Stranger Things with Hannes. Enjoying how familiar and natural everything feels with him. Walking to the bakery on the next morning. Having a big breakfast, more TV. Singing along to Monty Python songs. Playing with his hair. Talking in the dark. Smelling his sweater.
- Sitting on the balcony on a Sunday afternoon. The frozen snow hitting the bushes, making a sound like dissolving pop-rocks.
- Are people actually kidding me when they say I still look like a pupil?!
- Stranger Things - I didn't get into it last year but oh boy, I binge-watched both seasons over the course of a week. The characters, the atmosphere, the nostalgia... and the music! I love the character-based 80's playlists on Spotify.
- A neural network was fed Harry Potter books and this is a new chapter it wrote. Hilarious.
- My David Harbour man crush.
- Making out all night long at an 80s rock party. Meeting Claudia, Fabi and Frank.
- Everything smelling like fresh laundry. The clothes, the bedsheets, everything. Divine.
- He sometimes kisses my forehead out of the blue. He stops me when we are walking down the stairs just to take care of my shoelaces. And, have I mentioned forehead kisses? Yes? Oh dear.
- 10 Reasons Why We Don’t Stick to Things.
- Stalking someone on Facebook to whom I haven't talked to in over ten years. We used to sit next to each other in art class in 11th grade and walk home together. I don't know why I started thinking about him out of the blue.
- Watching The Crown, opening loads of browser tabs, reading about famous affairs, politicians, members of the royal family. Fake history at its best.
- Spending an evening at Westbad with Hannes. Sauna, ice-cold showers, waterslide, floating in the outdoor pool until closing time. Kissing in a dark corner. Sharing a changing room.
- Feeling truly happy on my way home from work on the last school day before Christmas. Catching myself grinning like a madwoman. Those days are so rare for me! I have to cherish those moments and keep them in mind like a treasure. That morning I woke up next to a very fine-smelling young man, his roommate got us croissants and we had breakfast together, my commute was shorter as usual, we had a gift-exchange at school which was so much fun (I got a NERF gun!!!) and my students were sugar. One even got me Nidar Smash, Scandinavian candy I mentioned once during a Christmas party and he actually paid attention! My colleague got a penis-shaped bong from his students and we all had a great laugh in the teacher's lounge afterwards.
- The view over the rooftops from Hanni's balcony.
- Eating Ecki's homemade cookies. Mmmh!
- Meeting Tobi and some other friends in Landshut on the 23rd. Quite a nice evening.
- Reading Anna's school yearbooks (she goes to my old school so it's fun to see how the teachers look now, ten years later).
- Playing N64 with my brother.
- Geeking out and making vague plans to visit the Harry Potter studios some day with Annika.
- My mother's reaction to my Christmas presents.
- The evening at Therme Erding with Alexandra. Talking about her wedding and our goals and wishes for the year to come, drinking cocktails in the warm water, floating on pool noodles over the waves.
- Being treated to Star Wars tickets by Sven. I didn't really care for the movie (I actually fell asleep) but the porgs were SO. CUTE.
- When Hannes broke my heart, well no, destroyed some kind of illusion I must have had, Frank took me in for New Year's Eve and we made tacos and played Cards Against Humanity with Claudia and Fabi. I was SO close to starting 2018 with a kiss but it wasn't meant to be.
