  • Spending time with Sitki. He's one of those hyper-professional guys, incredibly smart, charming, obliging, holding doors, paying compliments. And then you meet him at night in front of your local McDonald's, hardly even recognise him in his old jeans, sneakers and beanie, drink strawberry milkshake, steal his fries and allow him to beat you at the eyemotion playing table games.
  • The drama button.
  • Munich from its most decadent side: walking from Odeonsplatz along Theatinerstraße, browsing Manufaktum and buying some macarons at Dallmayer.
  • Spending time with Karin, one of those family members I've hardly ever had contact with. Still, we get along famously and had dessert and two glasses of wine at Goldmarie.
  • Mangosecco with a huge raspberry. Whole bottles of red wine. Standing in line to get into the 90s party, finding Elsa, getting onto the guest list, queue jumping, dancing, a lot. I love bad music.
  • The first thing I do whenever I start reading a new book is looking up the very last word.
  • Barfuß am Klavier. Again.
  • Falling in some sort of trance using the colouring book app on my phone.
  • Emilie Wapnick: Why some of us don't have one true calling - so I'm a multipotentialite, doesn't surprise me at all.
  • Getting a "super bowl" at Katopazzo with Lexi and Yanic. Free red wine, some hummus. Spotted: Amelie Kahl at the table next to me which was incredibly weird since I thought I had seen here earlier that day on the tube. Funny coincidences.
  • Watching Jessica Jones at Frank's, dancing to some more 90s tunes, vodka with cherry juice, a late night cheeseburger, fluffy rabbits on my way to the train.
  • Another Gilmore Girls character test. Another obvious result. (I'm also really looking forward to the new episodes this year!)
  • Walking through the art academy exhibition with Andrew (I love love love that building with its high ceilings and the little galleries), getting ice cream (I tried cauliflower ice cream, ew!) and flirting with the cashier.
  • Oh, Scandinavia. Every time I go there magic happens. My four days in Copenhagen were no exception. I mean, it was cold as fuck and I kinda got sick but I loved being there. Apart from obvious benefits like all those crazy beautiful design stores, my host's bicycle, pretty clocks in public spaces and great typography everywhere... there was Lars. I might have a very strange international love affair going on there. He is so much older than me and we don't speak each other's language but it felt as if we've known each other forever. We had overpriced red wine from the supermarket and Halifax burgers, went to Torvehallerne for some Vietnamese sandwiches and macarons, drove out to Louisiana (one of the best art museums I've ever been to) and had a great evening at Copenhagen StreetFood (Korean food, lemon cheesecake, weird dancers, a fireplace, Ale No. 16, what's not to love?), Christiania and his apartment at Christianshavn, playing Codenames. Oh, and he let me braid his hair. Awesome. I mean, kærlighed!
  • LêLê with Jan, a German expat in Copenhagen. He told me all his strange observations about the Danes - priceless!
  • Baby, you're like lightning in a bottle - I keep singing that line throughout the day (especially every time I go to the bathroom as I noticed?!). BØRNS is playing a concert in Copenhagen in two weeks. I wanna go back there!!
  • An ASMR "attack" on the subway, triggered by someone unbuttoning the snap fastener on their down jacket. Tingles!
  • Older men are gold. They are so generous with compliments! Apparently I have gorgeous eyes, hair, teeth and boobs and my way to eat and drink is playful and irresistible. And I make excellent nail colour choices. I'll take it.
  • Some of the best macarons I had in my entire life: salted caramel, pistachio and mango coconut from Maelu in Theatinerstraße.
  • Having a little festoon contest with the kids - which team can make the longest in one hour? They were so busy. Just call it a contest and boom, you get results. Also, there's chocolate afterwards.
  • Breathing. Falling asleep to relaxation videos.
  • Louise Bourgeois's home.
  • Chocolate-banana everything. Shout out to Casali!
  • Bert is talking to me again. Interesting.
  • The split screen toilet intro to Broad City's third season.
  • Also, GIRLS is back! Wheee! I LOVED Adam and Jessa jerking off next to each other in the second episode!
  • Friday night pizza party with Frank, Fabi and Claudia. Drinking too much red wine and playing games until 4am.
  • Dipping my fingers in glue and smearing it on a balloon along with some newspaper scraps. Sometimes, cold, wet and slimy is a good thing.
  • Socialising with my neighbour and my colleagues. Becky. Andi. Bettina. Grading artworks, breaking out of school in the evening.
  • Marshmallows.
  • Packing little presents for Lena, Lars and Becky. Just because.
  • My hot water bottle. Such a blessing.
  • Successfully maintaining a conversation with Sonja for more than one hour! Sitting in the kitchen, streaming weird songs on my phone, red wine, nut liquors and Grasovska.
  • A random compliment for my green scarf.
  • Silent cuddling with Frank in a club when we both realised we were getting very very drunk.
  • Rudi's birthday party with some of my colleagues #paddy #faak #msqrd
  • Talking to Tobi about bisexual women and being a "player". At yet another 90s party.
  • Meeting a beautiful and excited/exciting (but very self-absorbed) illustrator and being weird enough to randomly text him the next day. I'm SO never gonna hear from him again.
  • Remembering my In-Yer-Face Theatre seminar at university. Re-reading my old essays.
  • Ein Plädoyer fürs Bleiben #Frank
