- Drinking Pimm's Cup No. 1 with Franzi and catching up (her new apartment and my trip to Japan)
- Carolina Herrera VIP perfume (even though I got the tip from a gay man and it is in fact a scent for dudes but whatever, I love it).
- Soft purple lip butter and nail polish.
- Kistengärten.
- Stoner rock at Sunny Red/Feierwerk. Meeting Bosse and Bibi. Taking them along. As well as a stoned dude and a girl from California. Flex. Tabletop soccer with Bibi, Waldmeister schnapps. Meeting another American. Actually making it to Nachtgalerie at 4am. 3,50€ drinks. Lying around, having a weird salsa burger. Making the ridiculous plan to go swimming. So we pulled an all-nighter, got our bathing suits, woke up Frank, ate croissants and went to Westbad. Lying in the saltwater outside and enjoying the bubble bath in the sunshine was such a good idea after such a night. Highly recommended. Also, I won a swimming race against Frank. No surprise.
- Being up early (late) enough to get Egg McMuffins.
- Meeting Andy for pool, tabletop soccer and a fun racing game - actually we wanted to go to the biodiversity night at Hellabrunn but the thunderstorm kinda put us off.
- One of those mornings when you have an amazing time on the internet. You know, when one thing just leads to the next. Finnish design. Marimekko dishes. Illustrators. Japanese restaurants and shops in Munich. Festival plans for the summer. New food blogs. Old movies. Gorgeous dresses. Chatting with Lexi for hours (...)
- Telling myself more often that everything is really okay. I'm ok. I worry too much.
- Two illustrators I love: Monica Garwood and Deanna Staffo.
- Monday - the only sunny day of that week. We were game and spent the whole evening at Augustiner Keller. And I got a late birthday present, too: fairy lights! Also nice: talking about how GOOD Twin Peaks really is.
- Eating melons! I used to hate them with a passion but now I finally get what everyone's talking about...
- Squeezing the freshly ground coffee bags at the supermarket. It smells SO good. And I don't even particularly like coffee.
- Playing kicktipp with my colleagues. And I don't even suck that hard (yet), even though I don't know the slightest thing about football.
- Sneak preview with Andy. And an evening at IKEA. He's fun to be around (and yet I can't muster up any romantic feelings for him even though we do über-datey stuff together).
- Buying ALL THE PLANTS again for the balcony. Raspberry and blueberry bushes. Lavender. Pretty flowers. And a hydrangea. Japan took its toll.
- Gnocchi with dill sauce.
- Grading my students' artwork over pizza and wine with Claudia, playing cards and eating chili with Frank and Fabi.
- Endless Facebook threads with Kathi and Marita, obsessing over old photos and memories.
- Getting a whole Gösser Radler beer crate.
- A minor Marimekko obsession. I finally got the bowl I found in Tokyo as well as a little coffee cup. So pretty.
- Eating at the Gyoza bar (drinks for 1,70€!!) with Lena and Lexi, drinking very good Munich Mule at Café Jasmin.
- My undying love for Aesop products. What a guilty, guilty pleasure. But they smell SO good. I've got their mandarin rind face cream, hand cream and hand wash. So worth it. Also: you know you just ordered something expensive when you find a handwritten thank-you-note from the seller in the package...
- Bubble wrap.
- The Red Hot Chili Peppers have a new album. I can finally be a fan again! (Their last album sucked hard)
- They sell avocados in nets now, just like oranges. Which makes them really cheap!
- Watching the GER-POL match with Frank and his bouldering friends at that Italian place.
- Homemade eggplant burgers.
- Camerone Crowe made a new series called Roadies (which looks and feels very similar to Almost Famous - one of my favourite films of all time).
- Michael Buchinger's YouTube channel. Austrian comedy at its best. #HASS
- Watching Wir sind Kaiser with Frank. Making breakfast for him.
- The tree outside my balcony suddenly started sporting beautiful, luscious white blossoms. Now it's humming all the time because the bees are into it, too!
- The raindrops on Monet's Nympheas painting.
- Roasted corn.
- Maisie Williams and Krystofer Hivju.
- Trying on the most beautiful dress ever, instantly going online and ordering it in two more sizes. It's gorgeous.
- Watching the POR-AUT match outside at Backstage with Manu, Frank and Fabi. Driving to Import Export ("Geh tanzen!"). The music was surprisingly good. And it's so great sometimes not to be drunk, to be there with your own car and to leave before all the others - not too tired - so you can watch the Orphan Black season finale in bed with some chili cheese nuggets.
- Cheek and hand kisses from Manu. And another guy a few days again. Is chivalry in fashion again?
- Questions to ask.
- Emma's hair brushing sounds (on that note: the other day a fly flew towards my face and never touched my but I immediately got tingles - visual triggers work!)
- Catherine stroked my cheek really gently without thinking after I got a French word right! Ah, those Frenchies... gotta love touchy-feely people sometimes.
- Finding a really good woodsmoke barbecue sauce (which mainly consists of plums but is still awesome).
- An unexpected evening with Frank on the balcony. Gösser, cinnamon bun cheesecake, researching the moon's orbit.
- The woman in the Aldi underwear ad has gorgeous boobs. Just sayin'.
- Eating ice cream with the art kids on the first very hot day of the year and then making our own paper ice cream with the popsicle sticks.
- I unintentionally invited myself and went to Riemer Lake with my colleagues. We played ball in the water, I swam to the other side with Anja, ate melon, imitated our students #gossipgirls. Afterwards we went to Yvi's place, sat outside on the rooftop terrace (!) and had prosecco, wine and 5 huge family pizzas for 9 people. It was a beautiful day.
- Driving home at night, still 22°, windows wide open. Roxy Music's Avalon playing on an obscure radio station I've never noticed before. Coming home to the huge yellow moon rising over the treetops.
- Coming one step closer to that infamous 30min porcine climax.
- Being hilarious on Lena's balcony. Wearing red lipstick. A night outside at Backstage with Manu, Frank, Resi and Sabrina.
- A man to my taste.
- Ask Polly: Why Am I Always Too Much for Men? - This article is spot on.
- Making cantaloupe melon ice-cream with my new ice-cream maker.
