  • Vacation. Long breakfast, reading David Sedaris' Naked on the sofa, spending the whole week with Frank in Munich, trying on at least ten dresses (but buying only one). Living above a Turkish supermarket which means easy access to the most amazing herbs and vegetables.
  • Assembling IKEA stuff.
  • Lying in bed, learning about tying interesting knots / tricks with belts.
  • That great little place around the corner selling delicious hummus, mezze, falafel, halloumi...
  • Discovering Emily Gould's writing.
  • Music: Joan as Police Woman's Holy City and Beck's Blue Moon . Also, Harry Nilsson's You're Breaking My Heart and Ásgeir's King and Cross .
  • The sun setting later every day. More daylight!
  • Lena Dunham in a blonde wig acting all fancy and weird.
  • Going to Prague with Frank. The best thing ever was most definitely the exit game I booked. It's like a computer game but in real life - they lock you into an apartment (in our case one of a communist spy) and you have one hour to find your way out of it. You are going to find codes, tools, hints and keys to open locks and find more clues. We had so much fun! I booked it as a total surprise for him and he was so happy about it - he really didn't know why we "had an important appointment at 9pm"... Also the food was great and cheap (Lehka Hlava! My favourite vegetarian restaurant. And I even tried traditional Czech food - with meat and dumplings). We saw a lot, kissed in the sunshine at the river, had coffee on a boat (I ordered strawberry juice but received strawberries with mascarpone and mint instead), drank beer in a tacky 80s club and were missing exactly 1CZK at a Czech McDonald's.
  • Grand Budapest Hotel was pretty good, too.
  • Using coconut oil as make-up remover. Smells divine and works like a charm.
  • Riding my bike for the first time in a long long time. I need some more practise though, I'm SO not used to it anymore.
  • An 8-colour stamp pillow.
  • A cure for emotional breakdowns: lying on the sofa with the cat. Phone talks to your mum and brother. Mama making you pasta and tea. And this article.
  • The firewood smelling like cinnamon.
  • Blue cheese and alpine cheese with strawberries.
  • Spending a glorious Sunday in bed with Frank, watching six episodes of True Detective . It felt so so good after a really shitty and lonely week.
  • And True Detective deserves its own mention, of course. It's pretty fucking great. Matthew McConaughey. Yes.
  • "Craftsmen porn" - funny cell phone pics from Frank, toplessly setting up some furniture.
  • Doing all the work I needed to do on Friday and Saturday so I could spend Sunday without a guilty conscience and nagging feelings. I should do that more often.
  • Going home at half past 12 on a very sunny day. Cleaning the house, cooking something (for myself! with vegetables!!), doing some organising. And being super awake because I slept 14 hours the day before. I think I should start getting more sleep, I almost forgot how nice it is not to feel tired all the time.
  • Lying in bed with Frank late at night and all of a sudden we're interpreting English poems by Dylan Thomas! And now I know he knows Shakespeare monologues by heart. Weirdos unite (but it was awesome, I gotta admit).
  • Getting some ice cream with Elsa before driving to Munich.
  • Talking to Franzi on the phone. She's still my favourite teaching partner <3
  • A really surreal essay by one of my students. He was supposed to write about Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster and invented some crazy shit about leather shoes, monkeys and eggs. Oh, and, you know, Nessie is a chicken, by the way.
  • A little discussion about Margaret Thatcher. I still think she is fascination in a certain way.
  • Have I mentioned strawberries and cream yet? Also: those glorious chocolate cupcakes with smarties on top.
  • Fleamarket finds: brand new Minnetonka moccassins, a nice Hilfiger cashmere sweater, a folksy green dress and a potted plant.
  • Reliving our childhood while visiting the "Deutsches Museum" in Munich.
  • Drinking tea on a rainy Saturday night, playing "Säulen der Erde" in the kitchen.
  • Walking along the Isar with my mum, showing her my school and visiting my granny's grave. The next day I felt so alone because Frank didn't have time for me at the weekend and I fell asleep on my mum's sofa. Woke up to the cat meowing into my face and had breakfast together.
  • Going to work by bike.
  • Sleepy ASMR moments while receiving a little back massage.
  • Discovering Alys Fowler and her beautiful garden in the new Sjöden-catalogue.
  • Pancakes for breakfast. Scrambled eggs are a perfect choice as well!
  • Flowering trees. Lying in my mum's garden. The smell of spring, especially at night.
  • Biting into a crisp and buttery croissant.
