- Dyeing my hair cotton-candy pink.
- Watching Hocus Pocus with Frank after cleaning the flat and getting rid of all the cobwebs. Eating leftover gummy candy. Sharing a blanket. Also: I adore this movie. Especially Bette Midler and the witch's style.
- Manu sharing some of his oregano with me.
- Visiting Moni in Neufra for the first time in years. It's nice to have old friends like that. You don't hear from each other for months but whenever you meet it's like no time has passed and it's not weird at all. Since Moni is heavily pregnant this might just have been our last time alone. In December, Moni is gonna be a mum and I'm auntie Kathi. Exciting.
- The best kind of fruit torte with hazelnut cookie dough, a subtle pudding cream filling and a very good fruit selection.
- Winning tickets for the Mit Vergnügen party at Downtown Flash. Good music, attentive barkeepers and delicious drinks. Beautiful people, a nice location, a foosball table. And yellow balloons. On our way home: "By the way, why didn't you get me a balloon at the Oktoberfest this year?" "Woah, it's been such a hassle last year, they're super expensive and when you lose sight of it for a moment people try to steal it..." "But you love me. And you do hard things for people you love. That's how it is."
- Kitty-treatment on the sofa from a very tired friend when I was unusually alert. Falling asleep with my face in his hand.
- "But you're gone when you're sleeping!" "You're more than welcome to join my dreams." "Ah. Maybe we could slide down a rainbow then, yes? And then? Where do we end up? What would you like to do?" "The we are at an old Maya temple and enjoy the beautiful landscape. And we have a big picnic. With Roquefort cheese, Manchego and alpine cheese. Good Turkish bread." "And tomatoes. And olives." "Yes, that would be delicious with some old red wine."
- Shopping at Verdi on Landwehrstraße in the early morning on a Saturday. Fresh bread, roasted sesame, cheap coriander.
- Wearing new granny bras without wires. Why didn't I do this sooner?! I feel like a new person! (Same goes for sensible shoes. I got a few new pairs and none of them are higher than 3cm!)
- Receiving my order from Sarah Graley - a pizza witch shirt, a kitty pin and the Our Super Adventure comic book <3
- Catching up with my Things I Love lists from August.
- Jack Davenport.
- Tidying a big enough part of my desk to use my computer *not* on the bed for once. Putting away all the laundry. It's been lying around since when, July? I feel like a champion now.
- How Tuberculosis Shaped Victorian Fashion
- Very soft and crumbly cookies. Like Vanillekipferl. Having weird flashbacks of Home Alone while eating them.
- ASMR massage videos.
- The first snow. In November. Taking a picture of the white Isar river bed.
- Food critics. Or rather stories about them. Like this one. And any book by Ruth Reichl, especially Garlic and Sapphires.
- Justice - Randy / Banks & Steelz - Wild Season / Bilderbuch - I Love Stress / KT Tunstall - Hard Girls / Regina Spektor - Small Bill$ / Zeds Dead - Too Young
- Again, always: white lime chocolate with poppy seeds. / Wostok lemonade with almond and apricot. Tastes like marzipan. Good thing. / A salami sandwich with coriander. / Orange juice. / Popcorn muesli (?)
- Moritz. A very nice person to spend an evening in bed with. Very nice indeed. (too nice?) Being kitten-esque. Getting him hooked on Dan Millman's life number book (he's a 26/8, I'm a 38/11). Him sending me pictures of his sister's cat.
- Looking into other people's homes on an evening stroll. Watching somebody preparing dinner in front of the window. It was a really nice and cosy scene.
- Benedict Wells' Vom Ende der Einsamkeit - based on the plot summary I wasn't thrilled, even though everyone who read it seemed to have loved it. Too emo, I said. And yet I ordered the book a few months later and I'm glad I did. It's the reason for a whole day of happiness in my life. I read the book in less than 24 hours and on Saturday morning I sat outside on the balcony in the cold, with a blanket and a big scarf, careful not to dip anything into the rain puddles on the floor. Smoking a cigarette, warily watching the two Jehova's witnesses in the backyard who had rung my doorbell earlier. It was cold, but bearable. Because I felt really good, content, happy. So much in fact, that I had to write to Frank in order to make sense of this rare situation.
- I made a big batch of thai curry for the first time in months!
- Sitting in Frank's kitchen all night, playing Risk and Pik. Drinking tea, Chocolate 43; sharing a frozen pizza. Oh, and falling down the bed, both of us. Hilarious.
- The feeling that I'm starting to get my shit a little more together. (oh, the magic of cleaning?!)
- Lillet Wildberry. Mmh.
- Dinner with Margit at Goldmarie, one of my favourite restaurants in Munich.
- Meeting Franzi accidentally at a workshop on Monday afternoon <3 (and dreaming that she was pregnant a few days later)
- Getting a facial and a mani/pedicure. Kinda connecting with the beautician, meeting again in front of a jewellery store, walking to the subway together.
- The super moon! Driving towards it on the highway in the late afternoon, all pink and huge and gorgeos. Waiting for it to come out from behind the trees at night. So bright. I love the moon.
- Spending time with my (adopted) family. Annika's glasses. Being an Activity prodigy.
- The piano interlude in Dark Necessities by the RHCP.
- Sitting down with the kids, geeking out about Harry Potter. Using skewers as wands and shouting magic spells at each other.
- Melanie: "Was ich dir schon lange sagen wollte - du bist so ein schöner Typ!"
- Heather Feather as evil Candy Queen.
- Going to the cinema with Lena, watching Die Mitte der Welt, and getting some food at Tarboosh afterwards. Now I want pink hair and a sprinkle beard, by the way. Mmmmh, and I missed popcorn. Delicious.
- Cuddling with Lucy, Fabi's new dog. He found her at a festival in Spain this summer. I'd love to have a pet, too. Aaaah.
- Apple elderflower compote with vanilla sauce.
- Purple sparkle nail polish (and scratching it off again in huge chunks after a few days - immensely satisfying).
- Doing all the paperwork! Whee!
- "Satzzeichen sind keine Rudeltiere!"
- A day at the zoo, drawing flamingoes. Spending the next morning playing games with my 7th-graders at the ÖBZ.
- Anglophenia with Siobhan Thompson... "it just so happens that I can do many of these accents as my party trick!"
- I actually cried over this M&S Christmas advert.
- Watching the new Gilmore Girls episodes while eating pizza with smoky tabasco, truffle oil and capers. I loved all the guest appearances, especially Christian Borle, Peter Krause and Sutton Foster/Julia Goldani Telles from the Bunheads cast. And, man, Liza Weil. Paris Geller will always be one of my favourite characters. Best scene: when Rory gets picked up by Logan, Colin and the rest of the Yale crew for some good old In Omnia Paratus fun. Rory and Logan 4ever <3 (even though Jess is the hottie, I'll admit).
- Baking Vanillekipferl and stollen with poppyseeds and in Frank's kitchen. Drinking mulled wine, listening to Frank Sinatra Christmas songs, watching The Grinch.
- Sitting outside in my Uniqlo blanket scarf, watching Instagram stories.
- I finally did my taxes. Booyah.
- Meeting Elsa and Martina at Winter Tollwood. Elsa is engaged now! I bought a forest green silk scarf, a necklace and a ring there. Pretty kitty.
