  • The first day of November was a Saturday, and we were still at Hamburn. I didn't love that day (the Effigy Burn tends to get me down) but it was nice to cuddle up with our blankets on a sofa in the bar. To get buffed with the car polishing machine. Have a glimpse at the Laser Butt Plug championships - albeit a short one. And a long nap in our bunk beds in the afternoon. Much needed rest.
  • Not going home after Hamburn, but to Leverkusen instead. I visited Aljoscha (and his sister Anja with her little white doggie Basja). He let me have his room and slept in Anja's apartment downstairs. We had a lot of fun together drawing OSHO Zen cards, eating wraps and Thai food, walking along the river surrounded by bright autumn colours. We had a deal: I treated A. to a full spa day at Vabali in Düsseldorf and he gave me a Rebalancing/massage treatment.
  • Aljoscha's obsession with hot drinks made me buy a box of Ovomaltine. I like to drink it stirred into warm milk foam. Such a delight.
  • Downloaded episodes on my iPad for long train rides. This time: Wednesday and Wayward (which is such an excellent mini-series, I kinda hope they'll make a second season because there are so many loose ends).
  • The very soft, dark green fake fur blanket I bought for myself. I didn't NEED it, of course. But I'm craving softness in my life right now.
  • Collecting little presents, wrapping and decorating them: I'm making an advent calendar for L. and I'm so excited to surprise him with it!
  • A blissful weekend alone, doing nothing. Really, just relaxing. I even had a cozy movie night in bed - with a bowl of veggie gyozas.
  • The moody weather with thick fog and the first white frost on the dry, withered plants.
  • Cutting off branches from a fir tree on one of my walks. Arranging them around a set of candles on our dinner table. What a divine smell.
  • My first yoga class in a long while. Doing a shoulder stand propped up on a chair. Surprisingly comfortable and stable.
  • Spending a whole afternoon reading about specific gates in Human Design. Stumbling upon this fantastic website. I still have about 20 tabs open, waiting for me to take it all in.
  • My Christmas of Creativity advent calendar from Pen Store. I've already started opening the first doors because I'm going to miss two weeks of December due to my vacation. And I love the art supplies so far! The perfect choice for me.
  • Strength training. It surprises me each and every time how much better I feel afterwards.
  • Passion fruit juice with sparkling water.
  • A video call with Franzi who told me about quitting her job as a teacher (like me!) and starting a little astrology side hustle. She's got a social media account now and gives readings/does birth chart interpretations. She also collaborates with a potter friend to make little altars. So much yes! It felt wonderful talking to her. I need more weird and witchy people in my life.
  • This summer, I found a framed wood cut by Félix Vallotton ("La Paresse" - just a print, of course) at the recycling center. Somebody left it there for someone else to adopt. That someone was me. I just saw the very same illustration on Katharina Raab's wall when I watched her artist portrait.
  • And I went back to the recycling center last weekend to find interesting books for my Tarot collage workshop. And oh, how they delivered. An animal atlas, art books and lots of children's books with dreamy/weird illustrations.
  • Meeting Margit to paint ceramics together. I didn't really know what to do so I started sticking swirly shapes to the outside of a bowl with masking tape. And it looked really nice! So curious to see how it turns out after glazing and firing. Afterwards we had a delicious dinner at a Lebanese restaurant: Fattoush, pickles and smoky Baba Ganoush with bread.
  • Staying with Gaya in Vienna. I loved how refreshingly heart-warming she is. She speaks matter-of-factly and giggles like a young girl. Oh, and she brought a pillow and blanket to the castle for me. Lifesaver!
  • A little pre-party at Yod's AirBnb. Walking home on clouds.
  • Visiting the Ernst Fuchs museum at Otto Wagner Villa with C. What an amazing place. I loved his Fantastic Realism paintings. So trippy and surreal. There were mosaics, stained-glass windows and painted wallpaper everywhere. I also found positively huge, fuzzy acorns in the park.
  • An emotional talk with C. in an underground bakery. Crying. Accepting his decision to go home early and not come to the Burn with me. Taking him to the train station, being very cute. Texting and waving as the train took off.
  • Burn on the Rocks: driving up the hill in the Sprinter van with Féj and Luki / helping Gaya set up the Candy Bar and the Make-up Station / getting to know some of Yod's friends, befriending Genie, Shiney and Alex / Erez basically giving me "honorary Israeli" status because of all the chutzpah I have / talking to Ayla about numerology, astrology, Human Design, Tarot and psychology (I love making new witchy friends) / THE LESSON: Wait for the invitation. Go with the flow. Don't fight what's happening. Surrender to the present moment. It's meant for you. / a long talk with Mephy about consulting and superpowers / a conversation with David at the Burner Tarot table (those cards were amazing as well) / getting some more training as a K-Athlete (it felt like being stuck in a time loop - everything happened pretty much exactly like two years ago, even the comedown with Luki) / decorating nipple pasties with Shiney; making them look like a tacky 90s sticker album / "honey compliments" from Erez and Luki (who said I was the only one in the castle he respects enough to accept orders from) - I rewarded both of them with a kiss / wearing my new dragonfly glasses / a -very- passionate karaoke session; doing a deep Ken voice with Sarra; singing loudly, sometimes out of tune, having fun with it //
  • Reconnecting with Luki. He ist my Burn husband, my anchor and safety blanket, a Grumpy Old Man. A very cool, authentic, original, stylish soul. A fantastic saxophonist. An architect, a passionate politician, the perfect person to cuddle with while coming/calming down.
  • Shopping at ReSales. I got an extra suitcase worth of quirky second hand fashion. My favorite: an "ugly" (sparkly, magical) Christmas sweater with gold stars on black.
  • Lena's apartment. It's like a witchy, feminist gallery. And her chubby, cuddly lady cat Mina - with a croaky meow and an attitude.
  • Mirror of Magic masterclass at Berlin Art Institute: making poppets, collages and dioramas, embossing metal foil; I created a full set of "divination eggs" out of marbled clay and even made a little hand-shaped bowl with tiny feetsies for them. What I learned: basically I got The Lesson part 2 (part 1 was on Acid Friday a few days before). I need to work with what comes easy, what lights me up, what I already loved doing as a child. And stop try to create something that's not mine.
  • Seeing how Féj and Maxine connected the first moment they saw each other. Magic.
  • A date with myself: getting a new book for the train ride back in a tiny local bookstore, Thai massage, and then I saw Alizé (Cirque du Soleil) and was mesmerized by the tricks of the light (they made people vanish in one flick and had beautiful meteors and glowy flowy light balls).
  • My taste of Berlin: sunflower seed pretzel / a large cup of lukewarm, weak and milky coffee to go each morning / vegetarian tofu Banh Mí from ROLLS (delicioso!) / shared matcha cheesecake
  • Meeting Féj for lunch and stationery shopping (I got a truly tiny A7 advent calendar with forest animal motifs). Afterwards we went to her place and watched (= slept through) All About Eve. We had a great talk, too. About healing, the matrix, trusting your intuition... all the important stuff. She recommended two Ken Wilber books - yeah, that guy again. I already ordered them.
  • Getting a lot of writing done on the train (after I almost missed it).
  • C. and L. picking me up from the train station, carrying my luggage to the car for me. Then we had pizza at Basilico and went grocery shopping together. The next morning, I surprised L. with my advent calendar. I had a lot of fun quietly setting everything up alone, hanging it in his window, and going wild with the decorations (fairy lights, fir branches, pine cones, glass ornaments).
