We could be really great friends. We've gotten to the point where, even if (unbeknownst to you) I'm not completely on a friendly footing, I enjoy talking with you. About nothing! I know you get frustrated with me sometimes because I'm not always open with you, but you should know you're not my only friend with that complaint, though often I think your reasons for that aren't friend-kosher. We get along so well when it's not awkward, and you're good at making me comfortable enough to be open with you, which other friends don't entirely understand. But the truth is, we were good friends and now we're merely good acquaintances. It disappoints me more than you realize that you haven't learned how to balance various and conflicting demands on your life. I hope you can learn how to work through those problems and figure out how to be happy.
