• Seungri and I are like brothers and we learn a lot from each other too. I realized that I have to learn certain qualities that Seungri has. Slowly, I’m finding a compromising point between us and without him, I wouldn’t have been able to come back to the music scene.

DAESUNG

• Whether it’s a happiness or love, it’s good if anyone who has it a lot of it could share with others. I read from a book before that you need to love yourself first to love others. I wasn’t that type of a person and I was more like playing down my role and lowering myself. I kept pushing myself and at one point, my confidence was gone. Now I’m starting to learn about love and happiness little by little.
• Home. Big Bang is my home. At the times when I was most down, it was their phonecalls that gave me strength. They are the family that I am always very grateful to.
• Big Bang is my family. We are so close to each other. We have so many good things…. we are five, but I feel we are also one.
• In Family Outing, on the last episode in 2008, they asked Daesung who will he save first if his family and BIG BANG are drowning at the same time. He answered: “I will save my family first and die with BIG BANG together…”

• “Wild and Young” is the motto of my life. But it’s a bit difficult to go extreme in this culture. There’s a boundary for going wild and I’ve gotten used to that. I’m silently fighting with that boundary, but that never comes out in action. I do worry about how and what I’ll do next in the future. But for now I’m doing things I like without any problem so far.
• Last year, Big Bang hardly went outside and just stayed together in the studio, making them closer to each other. If nothing happened, they probably would have spent more time outside the studio and not show this much determination. It was extremely bitter, but it was the best medicine. Most singers find it difficult to stay together for 5 years but with them, time only made them stronger.
• The reason why I wanted to become a singer was because singers looked really cool back then. No other reason, it was just because they looked really cool. […] However, these days, there are no more musicians who are as cool as them. This is why I want to show the best answer to people. I’d be thrilled if I become the standard in terms of good music — that will make you decide what is good and what is not — among the overflowing singers these days. Yes, you can say that is my dream.
• Q: Who can survive alone on an uninhabited island? // GD: I definitely cannot, I am most afraid of loneliness, I cannot survive alone.
• To me Big Bang is another family. We go to each other for advice for lots things, not only work.
• I am so grateful that I can form a group with these 4 boys. Even if I had the chance to form a group with famous singers, I would not be as happy and grateful as I am now.

SEUNGRI

• Music is something that should never be taken lightly, because it is something that you need unconditionally. Music that has the strength to move one’s heart … I came to Seoul with just a vague dream of becoming a celebrity. I was such a sloppy singer. Time has passed and now it’s been 8 years since I debuted. Throughout those years, so many unexpected things happened … I changed. No, I HAD to change. That was the only way my team and I could survive.
• I’m not the type of person to act one way in front of the camera and another when it’s off. What you see is what you get.
• I might be just a small or big person in Bigbang but I realized that I cannot lose my light. When all five members are shining, Bigbang shines. If one member loses his light, there is no Bigbang anymore.
• If people tell me that I can’t do something, I will want to do it. If they say I still can’t do it, I will want to do it even more. If there’s absolutely nothing else I can do, then my tears will fall. I think that is youth.
  • Rather than the people who follow rules, the ones that exceed all expectations are those filled with youthfulness and energy.
• Big Bang is the group I want to be with till I die. All the other members are older than me but sometimes I feel that they’re like my close friends. Since I devoted my life to working in this field, without having special memories from middle school and high school, the members of Big Bang mean a lot to me. We’re not related by blood but I could say that I wanna be brothers with them. We’re now inseparable, having gone through good and bad times together. I think it would require so much more than what we have to break us apart.
• I’m always scared especially before standing on stage. However, when I’m already there on stage and facing the fans, I realize they’ll accept me no matter what so my fear disappears.
• Confidence is the only thing I can choose from my competition. Confidence is a strength I need when there are no improvements in my talents of singing or dancing. In order to not give up my dream and to keep moving forward, I will keep relying on my confidence.
• Challenges aren’t frightening, defeats aren’t terrifying either. A principle that I now insist and persist on is the understanding that you can fulfill your dreams when you work hard and don’t give up. I will still continue moving forward no matter how hard, dangerous and rough the road I chose is. The world that I dreamed of is waiting for me at the end of that road.
• Without developing oneself and fixing what’s wrong, you can’t mature. After meeting people from different backgrounds, traveling overseas for the group’s activities and experiencing various cultures, I think I’ve grown little by little. You learn a lot through experiences. I want to take the ending role in Big Bang. In other words, while the other members take central roles and lead the overall concept, I would spice things up more. Whether it’s on stage, talk shows or variety shows, my job is to fill in the parts that the other members are not capable of doing.
• Big Bang is the group I want to be with till I die. I want us to be five members. Forever.
• I was just scared that we will never be able to come back, that’s what was going through my mind. However, it seems as if that made me and my members stronger.
• I don’t like singing sad songs. I wanted to make songs that were fun and lovely. That’s why on this album, there are songs about love and songs that are towards the fans and of course it can never be 100%, but it’s an album that I’m pretty satisfied with. TAEYANG

• People might feel a bit unfamiliar with new me. But this is just who I am. If I had this idea that celebrities need to be perfect, I won’t be acting like this. But I realized that I just wanted to be free.
• Rather than becoming the best, I want to be a singer with meaning.
• Big Bang is just Big Bang. No matter what metaphors I use, it doesn’t suit our group. How people perceive us doesn’t affect who we are and it’s possible that our popularity may die in the future. But I’m not scared of that. It’s okay if we go through an accident and can’t go up on stage. The reason why we can continue doing our music is because us five are enjoying our time together as a team. We all like music and wherever we go and whatever we do, I’m thankful that we’re together. I have no fear and this is how it’s gonna be.
• I think I will have a hard time if I think about music not existing in this world. Music brings very important meaning to not only me, but to everyone.

• When I get serious, I get serious all the way, so it’s better for me to let myself go time to time, or maybe I’m just weird. When people see me, they say I’m crazy!

• We are all very sincere, and passionate. It’s because of this we have good chemistry and face the same direction when moving forward.
• As a K-pop idol group, at the time of our debut, we were the only ones who produced and wrote our own music. I think we were the first as K-pop idols. Since we make our own songs, we have a better understanding and appreciation when we perform on stage. We know what we’re good at. It’s not like somebody’s giving us a song. We’re doing what we like to do. So it helped us build a tighter world of our own, musically. Music needs to be associable. Since we’re writing our own music, we’re better at expressing our own thoughts and feelings, instead of someone else translating those feelings for you.
