This sinner is experienced, far more experienced than one could imagine. He’s used to manipulating and getting into people’s good graces but his motives are mostly self-serving and rarely malicious. Be aware that he’s the sort to only fight battles he knows he can win. Do not try to leverage your authority over him too openly as he will take it as a form of disrespect and refuse your orders.
Tartuffe is a smart, affable man who tries to be as polite as possible with everyone he meets. He acts respectful with everyone, even if he doesn’t actually respect them, and particularly dislikes when said respect isn’t reciprocated. He is extremely patient. He likes children and likes to take on a mentor role with younger people. He is a gourmet. He does the bare minimum required to not break his contract with Limbus Company, which means he only uses a ridiculously small percentage of his strength at any moment and finds a way to match the other sinner’s level so they don’t notice the gulf between him and them.
Tartuffe was born in the backstreets, ending up on the streets at a young age. He was adopted by a Sottocapo from the Thumb and that’s how he learned their fighting style. His experience with his adoptive father made him resentful of strict hierarchies and of the Thumb’s especially, while giving him strong values of respect. Refusing to keep on his father’s legacy, he became a Fixer.
He founded Riverside Office, a small independent Office, with a friend. Riverside Office specialized in taking requests no other office would take, preying on the desperation of their clients to inflate prices. They had the reputation of doing their job well despite their shadiness and dubious methods. Tartuffe did the fieldwork while his friend worked on the paperworks. Tartuffe’s work implied a lot of fighting but also a lot of investigation, which is how he honed his sweet talking skills. Outside of him and his friend, the only other member of Riverside Office was a street urchin Tartuffe adopted and trained. That child was used as an informant and spy and was offered room and board as a payment. Riverside Office closed down when Tartuffe and his friend went into retirement due to their age, after almost 40 years of Fixer work. The child was around 16 when the Office closed.
It is well-known in high grade Fixer circles that Tartuffe’s grade is much lower than it should be. While technically a Grade 1, he deliberately chose to be demoted to Grade 5 to avoid responsibilities or to end in a position of authority.
